The Leas Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council Councillor Marie Casserly has opened a Book of Condolence in County Hall in memory of the late Vicky Phelan, who passed away in the early hours of Monday morning following a lengthy battle against cervical cancer borne with bravery, courage and leadership.

On behalf of Sligo County Council's Elected Members and staff, the Leas Cathaoirleach and Chief Executive Martin Lydon expressed their sympathies to the family and friends of Vicky Phelan, stating that the thoughts and prayers of the people of County Sligo were with Vicky’s family at this difficult time.
