Traffic Report w/c 24th June, 2024

SLIGO URBAN AREA:

Circular Rd , Sligo Town

Lagan Asphalt Ltd have been appointed on behalf of Sligo County Council as the main contractor to carry out Road Resurfacing Works at the above location in Sligo Town. Works are scheduled to be carried out on Wednesday 26th June. Works will be carried out between hours of 8 am and 5 pm. There will be significant Traffic Management measures in place throughout the works with delays expected. Local Access will be maintained for the duration of the works. There will be no on Street Parking in the designated areas during the Works.

 

St Brigids Place, Sligo Town

Pilkington Terrace , Sligo Town

Mardyke /Rosses Point Rd  

Temporary Traffic lights will be in operation tomorrow  Tuesday 25th of June between the hours of 10 00 to 16 00 for gully cleaning/side pairing  . Delays can be expected . SCC apologies for any inconvenience caused.

 

IFN Project:

KN Circet working on behalf of Eir on the IFN project, will be carrying out works at the locations listed below:

Pearse Road, Vernon Street, Charles Hill, Mail Coach Road , Pearse Terrace, Saint Bridgid Place, Saint Edwards Terrace, Markievicz Road, Holborn Hill, Benbulben Terrace, Forth Hill Park, Ard na Greine, City View, Dartry View, Custom House Quay, Lower Quay Street, Queen Store Road

 

SLIGO – DRUMCLIFFE AREA:

N16 Lugatober (Drumkilsellagh to Lugnagall) Road Project

Construction works are progressing on the N16 Lugatober Scheme. Traffic management is in place with a 60km/h temporary speed limit in operation.

Temporary 2-way traffic lights are in place near Castlegal. This reduces traffic to single alternative flow for approx. 150m. The L7415 Castlegal Road has been diverted onto the new section of the N16 via temporary ramp.

Temporary 2-way traffic lights are in place near Lugatober. This reduces traffic to single alternative flow for approx. 140m. Access for residents along the old section of the N16 will be via L7413 Lugatober Road.

Delays are expected. Sligo County Council would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

 

Restoration Improvement and Drainage Works:

R291 Ballyweelin

Road Restoration/ Drainage Works will be carried out on the R291 Ballyweelin to Rosses point Road – Derry. A hard shoulder cycle lane Closure will be in place.

L-7206/L-7213-0 Dargan/Ballyscannell

Road Restoration/ Drainage Works will be carried out on the L-7213-0 Dargan/Ballyscannell. Traffic management and a Road Closure will be in place with signed Diversion in place. Local Access will be provided.

Pothole Repair

Routine maintenance will continue on Regional and Local Roads throughout the County in the coming week weather permitting. A Stop and Go Operation will be in effect.

 

ENNISCRONE AREA:

Main Street, Enniscrone

Works commencing on Main Street, Enniscrone, Mon 10th June.

Traffic Lights will be in operation, with minor delays anticipated.

No work is planned for this week.

 

BALLYMOTE AREA:

Pothole repair works will continue in the Ballymote area. Traffic control will be in operation, but no delays are expected.

TUBBERCURRY AREA:

Verge Trimming N17:

Verge trimming works will commence on the N17 - Collooney to Bellahy from Monday 17th of June 2024. Works will occur during the hours of 7pm to 7am and are expected to last 5 days. Traffic control will be in operation during working hours with minor delays expected.

 

SLIGO STRANDHILL AREA:

Buenos Ayes Dr and R292 junction Strandhill village  

Temporary Traffic lights will be in operation tomorrow Tuesday 25th of June between the hours of 10 00 to 16 00 for Road dressing. Delays can be expected . SCC apologise for any inconvenience caused.

 

N4 Collooney to Summerhill

Works on the N4 for PenTack Application will be carried out from 24th – 26th June. Works will be carried out between Collooney Roundabout and Summerhill Roundabout.

 

Collooney Active Travel Works:

New footpath construction works will take place on the R290 - Boyle Road.

Temporary traffic lights will be in operation and delays are expected.

 

Ballisodare to Collooney:

Sligo County Council wish to advise that road resurfacing works will take place on the R290 between Ballisdodare and Barrack St in Collooney from 10th to the 21st of June. It is anticipated that long delays may occur during the course of these works. Therefore , traffic are advised to seek alternative routes (ie the N4 Dual Carriageway) to avoid delays.

 

Carraroe; L3601 road, between the dual carriageway and Cloverhill

Surfacing operations will be ongoing, with minor delays to traffic.

 

L3603 road, between Jink’s Cross Drumiskabole and the Old Dublin Road

Surfacing operations will be ongoing, with minor delays to traffic.

 

R284 road, Drumiskabole Crossroads to Carraroe; New water mains installation

Work operations will be ongoing on the R284 road, at the Drumiskabole crossroads end. Traffic lights / a stop-go system, will be in operation when required, with minor delays to traffic.

 

Carricknagat to Collooney Active Travel Works:

New footpath construction to R290-1 – Carricknagat Railway Bridge to Owenmore River Bridge.

Temporary traffic lights in operation between Junction of R290 and L-2101-46 (Coolaney Road) and Collooney river bridge. –  EXPECT DELAYS.

 

Road Restoration Killery:

Road Restoration will be carried out on the L7604-13 Killery, traffic management will be in place, A 50km.hr speed limit will be in operation within the site.

A temporary road closure will be in place, Local Access will be provided.

Footpath repair works will continue in Cloondara, Ballisodare.
