SLIGO URBAN AREA:

Emergency Repair Works:

Uisce Eireann will complete an Emergency Repair to a leak on the R291 on Monday 16th December from 9:30. The R291 will be closed from the exit off the N4/N15 to Scotsman’s walk. Uisce Eireann will facilitate access and egress from the affected apartments/ estates. Cartron Heights, Old Cartron, Hollymount, Cartron Village and all estates accessed via Sea View Drive

 

N15

Wednesday 18th December from 09:30-15:30 Temporary Traffic management will be in place to carry out routine maintenance works (sweeping, gully clearing, signage etc) on the N15. Sligo Co Co apologies for any inconvenience caused.

 

Footpath Enhancement works Sligo Urban Area:

Footpath Enhancements works are ongoing at Highfield road, Circular Road, Abbey Street, St. Joachiem Terrace, Pearse Road and Nazareth House Exit. Temporary traffic management will be in operation during the works. SCC apologies for any inconvenience caused.

 

Meadowvale & Heatherview Residential Estates.

Modification of entry restrictions between Meadowvale & Heatherview Residential Estates. Path to be closed for 3 weeks. Pedestrian diversions will be put in place using temporary traffic management signs/barriers.

Holy Well Road along Carns Forest Walk:

Holy Well Road will close overnight on Tuesday 17th December until Wednesday 18th at 18:30 to facilitate emergency tree surgery works along Carns Forest Walk.

The road will also be closed on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th between the hours of 8:00 18:30. Traffic Management will be in place.

SLIGO – DRUMCLIFFE AREA:

Collooney Trial One-Way System

Sligo County Council wishes to advise motorists and the public that the “Collooney, Trial One-Way Traffic System” commenced in Collooney Village on Tuesday 22nd October 2024. 

The trial one-way system will commence at the junction of L-3607/L-3610-0 (Main Street) and terminates at the junction of L-3607-0/R290 (Lower Main Street). 

New signage & Variable Message Sign (VMS) boards will be in place to inform the public that the one-way system is operational.

Sligo County Council requests the cooperation of the public in relation to this trial one-way system.

 

N16 Lugatober (Drumkilsellagh to Lugnagall) Road Project.

Construction works are progressing on the N16 Lugatober Scheme. Traffic management is in place with a 60km/h temporary speed limit in operation.

 

Pothole Repair.

Routine maintenance will continue on Regional and Local Roads throughout the County in the coming week weather permitting. A Stop and Go Operation will be in effect.

 

ENNISCRONE AREA:

Main Street, Easkey.

Road restoration will be carried out on the R297, outside Easkey Vocational School. A Stop/Go (Convoy) system will be in operation, Minor delays expected.

Road Restoration will be carried out on the R297, Bartragh/Muckduff. A Stop/Go system (Convoy) will be in operation, Minor delays expected.

 

Sinage Maintenance:

Signage Maintenance will be carried out on the R298 from the R297 Cloondervalley to the N59 Tullylin. Traffic lights will be in operation. Minor delays expected.

Signage Maintenance will be carried out on the R297 from the N59 Mayo Border to the N59 Dromore West. Traffic lights will be in operation. Minor delays expected.

Signage Maintenance will be carried out on the N59 from the Mayo Border to the Corhownagh, Ballisadare. Traffic lights will be in operation. Minor delays expected.

 

Road improvements will be carried out on L26038-0 (129) Carrownurlar, A local road closure will be in operation, Local Access will be provided.

Road improvements will be carried out in Lugdoon, A local road closure will be in operation, Local Access will be provided.

Drainage work are being carried out on L2401-0 (79) Shraheens/Killeenduff. Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.

Pothole repair works will continue in the Ballymote area. Traffic control will be in operation, but no delays are expected.

TUBBERCURRY AREA:

TOPOGRAPHICAL SURVEY – N17 Knock to Collooney [Atlantic Economic Corridor] Project

Survey works commencing on 25th November between Achonry and Charlestown. Survey will include the public roads along the preferred corridor for the N17 Knock to Collooney Project. The Survey Area can be viewed at:

Temporary traffic management will be in place, with the implementation of a stop/go or traffic light shuttle system for periods.

SLIGO STRANDHILL AREA:

R284 road, Drumiskabole Crossroads to Carraroe; New water mains installation.

Work operations will be ongoing on the R284 road, during the day, and at the car park area art the vicinity of Carraroe national school. Traffic lights / a stop-go system, will be in operation when required, with minor delays to traffic.

 

Carricknagat to Collooney Active Travel Works

New footpath construction to R290-1 – Carricknagat Railway Bridge to Owenmore River Bridge.

Temporary traffic lights in operation between Junction of R290 and L-2101-46 (Coolaney Road) and Collooney river bridge. –  EXPECT DELAYS.

 

Road Restoration Killery.

Road Restoration will be carried out on the L7604-13 Killery, traffic management will be in place, A 50km.hr speed limit will be in operation within the site.

A temporary road closure will be in place, Local Access will be provided.

Footpath repair works will continue in Cloondara, Ballisodare.
