IT’S YOUR TOWN - have your say!

ONLINE WORKSHOPS

As part of the ongoing process to develop the Tubbercurry Town Centre First Plan, Sligo County Council, together with our consultants LUC and MKO, are running a series of online workshops. These workshops provide an opportunity for residents in Tubbercurry with local knowledge and lived experiences of visiting, shopping and socialising in Tubbercurry to share their views on the future development of the town.

During earlier stages of stakeholder engagement and brainstorming, a total of 42 ideas were generated. With your valuable input we aim to prioritise which ideas and proposals should be taken forward for inclusion in the Tubbercurry TCF Plan and for implementation in the coming years.

The workshops are delivered in partnership with the Demotec Project Team.

Workshops will take place on

  • Monday 17th July from 2 pm - 4 pm
  • Monday 17th July from 6 pm - 8 pm

Have your say on the future of Tubbercurry!

Residents, business owners and visitors to Tubbercurry are being encouraged to have their say on the future development of the South Sligo town.

Tubbercurry has been selected as one of 26 towns, one town from each county in the Republic of Ireland, to benefit under the government’s Town Centre First Policy approach. The Town Centre First Policy aims to present our towns as vibrant, viable and attractive places to live, work and visit.

Sligo County Council, along with consultants from LUC and MKO, have embarked on a process of public engagement to hear directly from the people of Tubbercurry. Those with an interest in the future development of Tubbercurry are being asked to engage with the Tubbercurry Town Centre First team in several different forums, and to offer their opinions and ideas on how the town can become a better place to live, work, visit and do business.

The first phase of the Town Centre First process is ‘Understanding the Place.’ This means gathering data, information, and opinions from as many stakeholders in the town as possible, to generate a fully rounded picture of the main challenges facing Tubbercurry in 2023. We also wish to identify the opportunities that exist to improve the town, and to harness the ideas of those who know Tubbercurry best: its residents and business owners.

There are two surveys linked below; one for residents and another for business owners, although there will obviously be some respondents who fall into both categories and are encouraged to fill out both surveys.

Please feel encouraged to spread these surveys as far as possible, amongst friends, family members, colleagues, neighbours, etc. The wider the base of opinions and viewpoints that can be gathered at this initial stage, the more informed and comprehensive the eventual Town Centre First Plan for Tubbercurry can become.

The link to the surveys will remain live until 5pm on Friday, June 9. At that stage, the responses gathered from the surveys, as well as the views shared at public information events held in the town in recent weeks, will be collated and studied to form the foundation of the Tubbercurry Town Centre First Plan. Further public consultation events will follow later in the summer.
