Road Closure - National Road N59 at Owenbeg

This road closure is from Tuesday, 6th June, 2023 up to and including Tuesday, 12th September, 2023.

Temporary Closing of Roads

Notice is hereby given of the decision of Sligo County Council to close to public traffic, the National Road N59 at Owenbeg from a point 240m southwest of its junction with the L6707 at Camcuill to the junction between the N59 and L6415 at Ballyogan.

This road closure is from Tuesday, 6th June, 2023 up to and including Tuesday, 12th September, 2023.

The temporary road closure is necessary to facilitate road construction works on the N59 at Owenbeg.

Local access will be maintained to residents, landowners and emergency services.

Diversion route when coming from Sligo: divert right onto R297, Coast Road at Dromore West, continuing on the R297 through the villages of Easkey and Rathlee and heading towards Enniscrone, turning left (before entering Enniscrone) in the Townland of Cloonaderavally onto the R298 and rejoining the N59 in the Townland of Tullylin.

Diversion route when coming from Ballina on the N59, divert left onto the R298 in the Townland of Tullylin, and continue on the R298 and turn right onto R297 Coast Road, in the Townland of Cloonaderavalley, continue on the R297 through the villages of Rathlee and Easkey and onto Dromore West, turning left to rejoin the N59 to Sligo.
