County Sligo Biodiversity Action Plan 2024 – 2030

Pre-Draft Public Consultation 24th June – 22nd July 2024

Sligo County Council, with the County Sligo Biodiversity Working Group, are in the process of developing a Biodiversity Action Plan for the county. We are seeking your support to identify the key priorities and actions needed to protect nature and address biodiversity loss.

The County Sligo Biodiversity Working Group is a partnership between local government, state agencies, faming organisations, education and training agencies and biodiversity organisations.

The 4th National Biodiversity Action Plan requires that all local authorities have a Biodiversity Action Plan in place by the end of 2026, to provide a structured approach to conserving biodiversity at the county level.  Your views on biodiversity and natural heritage will be used to develop priorities and actions to protect and restore nature.
