Are you included on the Register of Electors?

You cannot vote at the Referendums proposed to be held on 8th March 2024 unless your name is included on the Register of Electors! 

If your name is not currently included on the Register, there is still time to apply for inclusion on the Balancing List to the Register prior to the forthcoming Referendums

Closing date for receipt of applications is Tuesday, 20th February 2024

To be eligible to vote at the forthcoming Referendums, you must:

  • Be 18 years of age on or before 8th March 2024;
  • Be living full time at the address at which you wish to be registered;
  • Have Irish citizenship.

Postal and Special Voters Lists

If, due to illness or disability, work/service or study reasons, you are prevented from attending a polling station on polling day, you may be entitled to a Postal Vote

If you live in a nursing home, hospital or similar institution, and due to illness or disability you cannot go to your polling station to vote, you may apply for inclusion on the Special Voters List.
