Sligo County Council is hosting a digital exhibition of the design entries for the Town Centre Living Architectural Design Competition.
Town Centre Living Competition - Digital Exhibition
The competition was won by TAKA architects.
The Digital exhibition will be held in Sligo City Hall Foyer from Thursday 7th March to Friday 15th March.
Sligo County Council in partnership with the Royal Institute of Architects in Ireland (RIAI) and the Department of Housing, held a design competition seeking innovative proposals for social housing for the Pirn Mill Road site in Sligo.
The competition “aimed to encourage innovative design for social housing, and to progress the Government’s ‘Town Centre First’ policy for compact growth and town centre revitalisation”. The competition also sought to encourage more architectural firms to compete for social housing design projects. A total of 37 entries were received.
The digital exhibition will be launched with a lecture from Cian Deegan of TAKA architects, with an overview of the Competition Process by Seán Martin. The lecture will be held in the City Hall Chamber, Quay Street, Sligo at 6pm Thursday 7th March 2024.
