Storm Éowyn - Emergency Response Hubs & Helpline

The Sligo County Council Local Coordination Group has been working tirelessly, liaising with key agencies such as the HSE, and An Garda Síochána, Sligo LEADER and Sligo Civil Defence to coordinate available resources and ensure the needs of the citizens are promptly addressed.

Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council, Cllr Declan Bree, praised the remarkable community spirit displayed during this challenging time.  He stated,

"The phenomenal response from the people of Sligo in the face of this unprecedented disruption to basic services has been truly inspiring.  It is heartening to see our community come together to support one another.  I thank each and every individual for their commitment to helping our neighbours during this difficult period."

In response to the emerging humanitarian needs, Sligo County Council has established a dedicated Community Response Support Helpline, available at 071 911 1013 from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.  Members of the public can also email for support at communications@sligococo.ie

Chief Executive of Sligo County Council, Martin Lydon, emphasised the Council's commitment to providing comprehensive assistance, saying,

"The safety and well-being of our citizens is our top priority.  We have set up Emergency Response Hubs and are working closely with community-led initiatives to ensure that those without power, water, and other essential services receive the support they need."

Details of the available Emergency Response Hubs and community resources can be found on Sligo County Council website at https://www.sligococo.ie/EmergencyHelpline/

Residents are encouraged to check in on vulnerable neighbours to ensure their safety and access to essential services, including the dedicated Community Response Support Helpline.
