The culmination of Ryan's incredible journey came on January 8, 2024, when he reached the summit of Mount Vinson, the seventh and final peak of the Seven Summits challenge.  Located in Antarctica, Mount Vinson stands at an impressive height of 4,892 meters.  This achievement follows Ryan's triumphant ascent of Mount Everest last year, marking the completion of the sixth summit in his audacious endeavour.

Leas Cathaoirleach Cllr Fox, in his speech, acknowledged Ryan's remarkable persistence and resilience.  He highlighted Ryan's journey, which began at the age of 16 with the conquest of Kilimanjaro, and how he set his sights on achieving the seemingly impossible task of conquering all seven summits on his very first attempt.

Ryan's accomplishment serves as an inspiration to all, demonstrating the power of setting audacious goals and the determination required to achieve them.  He embodies the values of hard work, dedication, and an unwavering pursuit of dreams.  Through his remarkable journey, Ryan has become a symbol of the strength of character and resilience that defines the people of Sligo.
