Beach Lifeguard Course

Beach Lifeguard Course 2025 - Mayo County Council

For those interested in obtaining or revalidating a Water Safety Ireland qualification in Beach Lifeguarding, Mayo County Council in conjunction with Water Safety Ireland are running beach lifeguarding courses as follows:

Full Course - Easter Week Saturday – Thursday 12th to 18th April, 2025 (inclusive of Exams on 18th).   Duration is 7 days.  Venue to be confirmed by Mayo County Council.  Fee is €350.

Revalidation Course - Wednesday - Thursday, 17th and 18th April, 2025 (inclusive of Exams on 18th).  Duration is 2 days.  Venue to be confirmed by Mayo County Council.  Fee is €150.

Applicants for the position of Beach Lifeguard who have successfully completed this course will be eligible to attend at Fitness and practical BLS Tests for a position as Beach Lifeguard in various County Councils.

Applicants must hold a Water Safety Ireland Rescue 2 Certificate or equivalent, as recognised by the International Life Saving Federation (ILSF) to be accepted on to the Course.
