“For Engineering and/or Active Travel staff to explore the possibility of availing of funding under the Active Travel Scheme to resurface old bog roads to improve cycling infrastructure for locals and visitors alike in North Sligo including Cliffoney” - To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor T. “Acknowledging the recent upgrade of the walks at Gortnarowey, Barnaribbon, Half Moon Bay, Hazelwood and Lisadell and with the increase in the number of walkers enjoying these trails, I call on Sligo County Council to provide a portable toilet facility at each of these amenities as soon as possible” - To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor T. “To call on Sligo County Council to make the necessary arrangements to have a bus shelter provided at Drumcliff Primary Care Centre”
MOTIONS
- To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Casserly:
“To have signposts fitted at appropriate locations around Sligo and environs showing where Cairns Hill walk is and to have it promoted whenever possible including on the Sligo Walks social media platforms.” - To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Casserly:
“To request suitable benches along river walks in Grange village and public walks located in Raughly, Drumcliffe, Carney, Ballisodare, Collooney, Mullaghmore and Bunduff and other suitable locations in the Municipal District, and to also identify suitable public spaces and source funding for disabled access benches also” - To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Gilroy:
“To ask for Sligo County Council to report on traffic calming or speed reducing initiatives that could be used on the L3508 at Carrowmore where large numbers of visitors to the Carrowmore Megalithic Tombs and the McGarry Equestrian Centre are walking with horses along the road and many of these are young children”. - To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Gilroy:
“To ask for Sligo County Council to put in place bollards or parking control measures to stop dangerous parking along the road down to Rosses Point beach (L7313-0 or L-33092- 0). This issue is leading to pedestrians, young families with children and People with Disabilities having to walk out in the road where they compete with Traffic and are obviously in danger” - To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Gilroy:
“To ask for Sligo County Council to clean any of the dirty road signs or replace any faded signs in the villages of Mullaghmore, Cliffoney, Grange, Carney, Maugherow, Drumcliffe, Rathcormac and Rosses Point. Many of these road signs are covered in Green Algae and are not clearly visible to motorists”. - To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor T. Walsh:
“To ask Sligo County Council for an update on the provision of a footpath between Collooney and Ballisodare at Carricknagat towards Collooney and same from Collooney town to Collooney Railway Station”. - To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor T. Walsh:
“To ask Sligo County Council for an update on the provision of the new outdoor facility at Rosses Point Beech. The facility which is to provide hot showers, changing and toilet facilities, secure storage, induction spaces, equipment washdown and orientation points and they will fully wheelchair accessible and built using sustainable materials such as solar heating panels to meet 'Nearly Zero Energy”. - Votes of Sympathy
