Minutes of the Annual General Meeting of the Municipal District of Ballymote – Tubbercurry Held on Monday 20th June, 2022 at 2.00 P.M. in Teach Laighne, Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo


COUNCILLORS PRESENT:

  • Councillor Joseph Queenan
  • Councillor Paul Taylor

CATHAOIRLEACH:

The Cathaoirleach, Councillor M. Connolly, presided and welcomed all present to the Annual General Meeting.  Councillor Connolly thanked Councillors and Staff present and the Executive of the County Council for their support over the past year.  Some of his highlights as Cathaoirleach were noted as the Opening of the N4 CCRD, progress on the N17 road project, Garda Station and Health Centre in Tubbercurry.

 

1. ELECTION OF CATHAOIRLEACH:

Proposed by Councillor P. Taylor
Seconded by Councillor G. Mullaney

AND AGREED

“To elect Councillor Martin Baker as Cathaoirleach of the Ballymote – Tubbercurry Municipal District”.

Councillor M. Connolly wished Councillor M. Baker well in the year ahead.  He then invited Councillor M. Baker to come to the Chair.

Councillor M. Baker took the Chair and thanked his proposer and seconder and all of his colleagues for their support.  Councillor M. Baker stated that it was a great honour for him to be elected as Cathaoirleach of the Ballymote – Tubbercurry Municipal District and outlined some areas he hopes to progress during his term as Cathaoirleach.

Councillor M. Baker was congratulated by the members on his election as Cathaoirleach and he was assured of their support during the year ahead.

Ms. E. Concannon, A/Director of Service offered her congratulations to Councillor M. Baker and stated that he would have the full support of the Council staff in the year ahead.

 

2. ELECTION OF LEAS-CHATHAOIRLEACH:

Proposed by Councillor J. Queenan
Seconded by Councillor D. Mulvey

AND AGREED

“To elect Councillor Martin Connolly as Leas-Chathaoirleach of Ballymote - Tubbercurry Municipal District”.

Councillor M. Connolly thanked his proposer and seconder and assured the Cathaoirleach of his support.

It was agreed to hold the next Ballymote Tubbercurry Municipal District Meeting at 2pm on Monday, 11th July, 2022 in Teach Laighne, Tubbercurry.

 

The business of the meeting concluded at 15.00p.m.
