This link road is only the width of one vehicle and there are many vehicles using it.  The road is being used daily as the route to the National and Secondary schools and by workers in Ballymote town.  This narrow road has stone walls on each side with loose rocks regularly falling onto the road adding to the danger for traffic. “To ask Sligo County Council to ask the Minister for Transport to reclassify this road (L3700) between Collooney and Castlebaldwin as a Regional Road, rather than a local road, due to the standard of the road, the traffic volume and the connectivity it provides.

  16. To consider the following notice of motion as submitted by Councillor B. Gallagher
“To ask Sligo County Council to contact Uisce Éireann in relation to the trunk main water pipe from Lough Talt to Tubbercurry.

How many bursts / repairs have been completed on this water main so far in 2025. With our housing shortages and numbers of houses to increase in South Sligo in the coming years, I would see the great need for this pipework to be fully replaced to cope with the demand.
