MOTIONS
- To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Mulvey:
“I call on SCC to install a speed ramp between the Health centre and Mill pharmacy Coolaney to slow down speeding traffic entering the village, Also can the large trees along this stretch of road be examined to improve vision for motorists and pedestrians using the Health centre and pharmacy.” - To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Mulvey:
“I ask that the public footpath to the front of Scoil Mhuire gan Smál, leading towards Sparoia Childcare in Ballymote be included in a replacement works scheme. This footpath was resurfaced some time ago, but is now disintegrated in many sections, possibly due to extreme weather. As a result, the footpath is now hazardous in places.” - To consider the following joint motion as submitted by Councillor D. Mulvey:
"The junction known as Clarkes Bridge onto N17 has to be one of, if not the most dangerous, junctions on a national primary routes in Co Sligo.
Both for exiting on this national primary road from L, but for traffic coming from the Tubbercurry direction and seeking to turn right, they have the potential for rear ending by other vehicles that are travelling north at excessive speeds. A few years ago, a traffic counter recorded in over 50k vehicles using the N17 road.
The daily risk for fatalities at this location is very high. If the TII and traffic enforcement agencies cannot slow the traffic at this location, A roundabout is urgently needed there to reduce traffic speed and make it safe for all road users. Four roundabouts are located between Castlebaldwin and Sligo town on the N4. Yet there is NO roundabout between the Mayo border and the N4 at Toberbride Colloney.
I am calling on this council to get a response from TII on the urgent need for a roundabout at this location.” - To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor B. Gallagher:
“To call on Sligo County Council Roads / Infrastructure Team to contact the TII in relation to a new layout / safety works to be carried out at the junction in Curry where the main N17 road and the L4902 road from Bunnacrannagh and Curry Village meet at the junction onto the N17.” - To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor B. Gallagher:
“To call on Sligo County Council Roads / Infrastructure Team to contact the TII in relation to immediate safety measures to be carried out on an extremely dangerous bend on the heavily utilised R294 near the Lough Talt water treatment plant and minor road junction L88015.” - To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor B. Gallagher:
“To call on Sligo County Council Roads / Infrastructure Team to contact the TII in relation to immediate safety measures to be carried out in Cloonacool on road number L4703 at Cuil Bui in the village where there is residential housing along the roadside and also to look at putting double yellow lines on the bridge outside St. Michaels Church in Cloonacool.” - To Consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor P. Taylor:
“To ask for an update on the application for funding for verge strengthening and re alignment works for the R293.” - To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor P. Taylor:

“To call on Sligo County Council to have local road number L5701 including in the first year of the three-year program.” - To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor G. Mullaney:
“To call on Sligo County Council to have the necessary excavation work carried out in Knockbrack Cemetery to prepare for 28 extra plots at the North West end as a matter of urgency. If this work isn't done before 3 new plots are required there will be no access to the area for removing soil. The safety barrier along the internal road is in a state of decay and needs to be replaced.” - To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor L. Brennan:
“I ask that Sligo County Council take charge of the service and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant in the Dromroe Estate, Castlebaldwin in a temporary measure while Irish Water/Uisce Eireann look at addressing issues relating to the remediation of DPI infrastructure.” - To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor L. Brennan:
“I request Sligo County Council to look at speed measures / traffic calming within the Dromroe Estate, Castlebaldwin. In addition, I ask that Stop Signs currently in place are secured properly as they are falling over and twisting in the wind. - To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor L. Brennan:
