  1. To confirm the Minutes of the Meeting of the Municipal District of Ballymote-Tubbercurry held 18th September, 2023.
  2. To confirm the Minutes of the Budget Meeting of the Municipal District of Ballymote-Tubbercurry held on 1st November, 2023.
  3. Matters Arising.
  4. Presentation in regard to Performance and Future Plans of Ireland West Airport Knock.
  5. Presentation on the Tubbercurry Town Centre First Plan.
  6. Update on the Croí Cónaithe Towns Fund (Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant).

 

MOTIONS

  1. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor G. Mullaney:
    “To call on Sligo County Council to upgrade L1502 Drumfin to Ballymote road to 'Regional' status in the light of increased heavy traffic since the opening N4 Collooney to Castlebaldwin bypass.”
  2. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Mulvey:
    “Can I ask Sligo Co Co for an update on previous requests for safety works on road L1502 (Drumfin-Ballymote Road), which has become the main route now for extra volumes of traffic coming from Donegal-Sligo and the East of the country and daily commuters to Ballymote and beyond? This road has many dangerous bends, and locals who travel it daily encounter many near misses. Parents who are bringing their children to Knockmina, NS, have requested that white lines be painted as they are meeting vehicles coming in the opposite direction in the middle of the road. This road is not fit for the increased volumes of traffic now using it and needs to be upgraded.”
  3. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor Mulvey:
    “(a) I call on Sligo County Council to erect SLOW DOWN or similar traffic-calming signage along road L8705 at Sessuecommon Cloonacool, where there are houses and many walkers using this road. This is a busy link road from Tubbercrry to Cloonacool. Local residents are concerned about the volume and speed of traffic along this countryside road, which has some blind junctions.
    And
    “(b) Speed ramps are needed along R293 at Stonepark Ballymote due to fatalities and various boundary walls being damaged. This section has 3 different speed limits but still residents and parents using the community park are requesting speed ramps as the only effective way to slow speeding vehicles down.”
  4. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillors Clarke, Queenan and Mulvey:
    “That Sligo County Council herby recognises Easkey Enhancement Association as the lead development group for the Easkey area and to inform all funding agencies of this our position.”
  5. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Clarke:
    “To call on Sligo County Council to prepare a report on what provisions will be made in the budget to address the lack of maintenance on the Council housing stock. With tenants without heating for months and general maintenance Non-existenting.”
  6. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor J. Queenan:
    “Ask the Director of Services to give an update on purchase of land in Enniscrone for Development of Social Affordable houses and when is it going to design.”
  7. To Consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor J. Queenan:
    “Ask the Director of Services to allocate funding for repair and instal a second public light on Road 122 Carrowhubbock South.”
  8. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Clarke:
    “That Sligo County Council acknowledges the success of Ireland West Airport as one of the Most important economic drivers for the Northwest region, as a partner of Sligo County Council, we look forward to working with The management of the Airport and their support on delivering Other major important infrastructure projects, The N17, and The western railway corridor.”
  9. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor G. Mullaney:
    “To call on TFI to provide a report on the role out of bus shelters on routes 997 and 572.”
  10. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillors Mullaney and Baker:
    “To call on the council to address safety concerns for children crossing the road at Taunagh National School Riverstown.”
  11. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Connolly:
    “To ask for an update on the progress of the new health centre in Tubbercurry.”
  12. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Connolly:
    “To once again ask Sligo County Council to install at least one disabled parking space in the square in Tubbercurry.”
  13. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Baker:
    “To Request Sligo County Council to put plan in place to cut verges of walk and cycle way between Collooney and Lackagh in interest of public Safety.”
  14. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor P. Taylor:
    “To Ask Sligo County Council to call on the Government to provide emergency funding to undertake remedial works as a result of Storm Debbie.
    To include,
    Removal of dangerous trees adjacent to public roads.
    Urgent maintenance of water courses on public roads including maintenance operations to the Owenmore river catchment area.
    Funding to eliminate flooding issues in our towns & villages in this Municipal District.”
  15. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor P. Taylor:
    “To ask TII for an update on traffic calming measures on the N17 Sligo side of Tubbercurry. This has become a major safety issue for those using the GAA Park , Early Years services in Springvale & residents in the area including those availing of school transport.”
  16. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor P. Taylor:
    “To ask for an update on the progress of the proposed new Garda Station in Tubbercurry.”
