DEFERRED MOTIONS

  1. To consider the following joint motion as submitted by Councillors M. Clarke and J. Queenan:
“To call on Sligo County Council to start the process of taking in charge one kilometre of road at Bunnina Dromard there are 9 residential houses and 5 farmers on this road. and road at one kilometre from Ballinphull to Lugdoon Templeboy, this a strategic road of importance to the Council, on the occasion of the main N59 been blocked this a diversion route.”
  2. To consider the following notice of motion as submitted by Councillor M. Clarke:
“To call on Sligo County Council to prepare a report on what safety measures will be carried out on access to Corkamore graveyard Templeboy, Given that on the advice of the undertaker on health and safety grounds, two funerals in the last 12 months, had to be diverted to another burial ground, i.e. a woman couldn't be buried with her predeceased husband and a daughter couldn't be laid to rest with her predeceased father, the indigenous people are unable to attend to their family plots and the graveyard is continuing to fall into a serious disrepair and dereliction.”

MOTIONS

  1. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor Mulvey:
To ask Sligo County Council to erect a safety barrier at the junction off R293 and local road L56031.”
  2. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillors M. Clarke and J. Queenan:
“That Sligo County Council provides traffic calming at Kilglass as requested by Kilglass Community Council. We would like to officially request that the speed limit is reduced through the village from before the National School until after the Church, a distance of 500-600 meters. There are currently 120 children attending the school with high volumes of traffic in the morning and afternoon. The school is located very close to the road and the 80km speed limit is a daily hazard to both children, parents, and road users.  We are about to start development on a new Digital Hub and Community Centre beside the church which again will increase traffic levels.

Ideally, we would prefer a 50km speed limit as is the case in other villages, however, as we are not zoned as a village I understand this may not be possible. In which case a 60km speed limit would be preferable.”
  3. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor Mullaney:
“To call on the council to seek funding for verge strength work on the R284 from Geevagh to Sooey.”
  4. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor Mullaney:
“To call on the Council to provide a raised pedestrian crossing with flashing lights in Ballinafad Village at the playground on road number L5805 in the interest of public safety.”
  5. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor Mullaney:
“To call on Sligo County Council to write to Vodafone requesting that they investigate why phone and internet coverage has a much weaker signal than it had in the past in Ballymote.”
  6. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor Mulvey:
“To fit a road number or directional arrow at Doonmegan Ballymote known locally as The Bog Road”.
