A native of County Sligo, Brían Flynn graduated from University of Galway with a degree in Civil Engineering. He also holds a Masters of Business Administration from Dublin City University. Commencing his career in the private sector with Ryan Hanley Consulting Engineers in Galway, Brían subsequently joined the public sector, initially with Leitrim County Council where he worked predominately in road design and construction. Following a move to Sligo County Council, he has worked across a range of strategic and operations functions including Water Services, Procurement, Project Management, and Road Design, Construction and Maintenance. Brían has been involved in a number of landmark projects for Sligo County Council including the Western Distributor Road and the redevelopment of Queen Maeve Square. Prior to taking up his current position as Director of Services - Live Invest Visit, Brían held the role of Town Regeneration Officer with Sligo County Council.
