Minutes of Special Meeting (N.U.I.G.) of Sligo County Council held on Monday, 3rd October, 2016 at 11.00 a.m. in The Council Chamber, County Hall, Riverside, Sligo

ELECTION OF REPRESENTATIVE TO THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF IRELAND, GALWAY FOR THE REMAINDER OF PERIOD OF OFFICE OF THE EXISTING ÚDARÁS NA H-OLLSCOILE (1ST FEBRUARY, 2016 TO 31ST JANUARY, 2021):

The Cathaoirleach advised the Meeting that, following the resignation of Councillor Kilgannon from the Governing Body of the National University of Ireland, Galway, he had issued a notice on 2nd August appointing Monday, 3rd October, 2016 as the date for the meeting for the purposes of electing a member to the Governing Body.

The closing date for nominations was Friday, 9th September.

One nomination paper was received by that date; the nomination of Councillor Rosaleen O’Grady was signed by Councillor Kilgannon as proposer and by Councillor MacSharry as seconder.

This was the only nomination before the meeting for the election.

Councillor O’Grady was deemed to be elected as Sligo County Council’s representative.

Councillor O’Grady thanked her proposer and seconder and the Members present at the meeting and assured the Members she would do her best to represent the area the best way she could on the Board.

 

CONCLUSION OF MEETING:

The meeting concluded at 10.35 a.m.
