7. DISPOSAL OF LAND AT BALLYARA, TUBBERCURRY, CO. SLIGO:

“To approve, pursuant to Section 183 of the Local Government Act 2001, the disposal of property at Ballyara, Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo”.

8. DISPOSAL OF PROPERTY AT GORTLOWNAN, BALLINTOGHER, CO. SLIGO:

Seconded by Councillor J. Shannon

AND AGREED

“To approve, pursuant to Section 183 of the Local Government Act 2001, the disposal of property at Gortlownan, Ballintogher, Co. Sligo”.

9. CONSTRUCTION OF 4 NO. HOUSES AT MARREN PARK, STONEPARKS TD., BALLYMOTE, CO. SLIGO: 

Proposed by Councillor L. Conlon
Seconded by Councillor G. Murray

AND AGREED

“That Sligo County Council in accordance with Part 8 of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Regulations, 2001 proceed with the construction of 4 no. houses at Marren Park, Stoneparks Td., Ballymote, Co. Sligo”.

10. CONSTRUCTION OF A HOUSE, SEPTIC TANK AND PERCOLATION AREA AT MAGHERALACK TD., GEEVAGH, CO. SLIGO: 

Proposed by Councillor M. Gormley
Seconded by Councillor L. Conlon

AND AGREED

“That Sligo County Council in accordance with Part 8 of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Regulations, 2001 proceed with the construction of a house, septic tank and percolation area at Magheralack Td., Geevagh, Co. Sligo”.

11. DRAFT ANNUAL REPORT 2003: 

Proposed by Councillor L. Conlon
Seconded by Councillor J. Queenan

AND AGREED

“To adopt the 2003 Draft Annual Report”.

12. DRAFT SCHEME OF LETTING PRIORITIES FOR ACCOMMODATION PROVIDED BY SLIGO COUNTY COUNCIL: 

Proposed by Councillor L. Conlon
Seconded by Councillor J. Queenan

AND AGREED

“To adopt the Draft Scheme of Letting Priorities for Accommodation provided by Sligo County Council”.

13. RAISING OF A LOAN OF €4,090,000 FOR THE PROVISION AND INSTALLATION OF WATER METERS FOR ALL NON-DOMESTIC WATER CONSUMERS:

Proposed by Councillor M. Gormley
Seconded by Councillor M. Conlon

AND AGREED

“To approve the raising of a loan of €4,090,000 for the provision and installation of water meters for all non-domestic water consumers”.

14: TAKING IN CHARGE OF GROUP WATER SCHEMES IN DROMORE WEST, SKREEN /DROMARD, CARROWMORAN AND CARNAMADOO: 

Proposed by Councillor R. Mc Guinn
Seconded by Councillor P. Conmy

AND AGREED

“To take in charge the following group water schemes:

  • Dromore West
  • Skreen /Dromard
  • Carrowmoran
  • Carnamadoo”.

15. PRESENTATION ON CUSTOMER SERVICES DESK:

Ms M. Mc Connell, Senior Executive Officer gave a presentation on the implementation of the Customer Services Desk at County Hall.  This proposal was welcomed by the members.

16. POLLING CARDS FOR LOCAL ELECTIONS 2004: 

Proposed by Councillor D. Bree
Seconded by Councillor A. Parke

AND AGREED

“That Polling Information Cards be issued for the 2004 Local Elections”.

17. COMMUNITY ARTS ACT GRANTS AND BURSARIES SCHEMES: 

Proposed by Councillor S. Mac Manus
Seconded by Councillor P. Barry

AND AGREED

“To approve applications for the Community Arts Act Grants and Bursaries Schemes 2004 as set out in report from the Arts Officer dated 21st April 2004”.

48. POLLING SCHEME: 

Councillor J. Mc Garry asked that the Council consider bringing in a new polling scheme as soon as possible to reflect the changes in population since the previous one in 1988.  Also that the new polling scheme includes a new polling station in Merville Community Centre.

In response Ms M. Mc Connell stated that this would be taken in to consideration when a review of the polling scheme is conducted in due course.

“To extend a vote of sympathy to Bridie Kane on the death of her brother, Michael Henry”.

“To extend a vote of sympathy to Joe Gordon on the death of his brother, Frank”.

“To extend a vote of sympathy to Myles Sweeney on the death of his mother”.

  
The members wished Councillors Leo Conlon and Michael Boxer Conlon a long and happy retirement. 

Mr H. Kearns, County Manager thanked the members for their hard work and commitment over the past five years and wished them good luck with their election campaigns.
