  11. To approve in accordance with Section 128C of the Local government Act 2001 the revised membership of the Sligo Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) (report attached).
  12. To approve the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) Annual Report 2020 (report attached).
  13. To approve in accordance with Section 183 of the Local Government Act 2001, the disposal of 5 Cairns View, Pearse Road, Sligo to Ms. Lucy Brennan (report previously circulated).
  14. To proceed with the proposed development:
    Demolition of 2 no. bungalow units and construction of 4 no. dwelling units in a 2 storey terrace comprising 2 no. 2-bed houses and 2 no. 1 bed apartments, and all associated site works including connection to existing services at the site of 1 and 2 Old People’s Homes, Green Road, Coolaney, in accordance with the Chief Executive’s Report and pursuant to Section 179(3) and 179(4) of Part XI of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as Amended) (report attached).
  15. To proceed with the proposed development to construct 15 dwellings consisting of 7 houses (1no. 4 bed, 4 no. 3 bed and 2 no. 2 bed) and 8 apartments (4 no. 1 bed and 4 no. 2 bed) and all associated site works at Connolly Park, Tobercurry, Co. Sligo in accordance with the Chief Executive’s Report and pursuant to Section 179(3) and 179(4) of Part XI of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as Amended) (report attached).

  1. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor J. Queenan:
    “To call on the government to ensure that the national herd is not reduced under the Climate Change Bill”.
  2. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor J. Queenan and Councillor M. Clarke:
    “To call on Sligo County Council to activate Section 34 6 of the Planning Act so that the development of surfing accomodation on former IDA lands at Easkey, Co. Sligo can be considered for planning”.
  3. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Gilroy:
    “To ask Sligo County Council to report on what procedures are in place to either refund or pay to Irish Water the contribution made by members of the public as a condition of planning permission who paid to Sligo County Council a contribution towards expenditure that was or that is proposed to be incurred by Sligo County Council towards the provision of water facilities. This fee would have been paid at commencement of development work but the connection was never completed due to delays in finishing the dwelling.

    And to ensure that no householder is asked to pay a second contribution to Irish Water when they have already paid for the provision of water facilities to Sligo County Council.”
  4. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor T. Walsh:
    “To ask Sligo County Council to provide an update on both Greenway Projects, the SLNCR and the Sligo to Bellaghy Greenway.”
  5. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor S. Maguire:
    Acknowledging the positive step forward by the government in introducing the coercive control legislation, this Council seeks that further supports are provided for those who experience domestic violence and that formal recognition is given to those encountering parental alienation”.
  6. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Gilroy:
    “Noting the reply to Motion 34 November 2020 Ordinary Meeting of Sligo County Council (Submitted by Cllr Bree), can Sligo County Council issue an updated report on:
    1. Design for proposed works by Langan Consulting Engineers
    2. Details of what works are proposed this design will be.
    3. Progress on procurement of funds to carry out the expected work.
    4. Progress on procurement of a contractor to carry out works.
    5. Expected date on which the Department could be asked to consider issuing licences to boats to carry fare paying passengers to Innishmurray
    6. Report on what inspections have been carried out to ensure the preservation and care of the delicate natural and heritage sites on the island.”

    “To seek an update from the OPW and CAO Joe Nugent on how the refurbishment of Sligo Garda Station complies with Part M of the Building Regulations Access and Use and whether a Disabled Access Certificate (DAC) has or will be issued at the completion of the works.”
  2. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Casserly:
    “That Sligo County Council write to the National Graves Association to request a refurbishment report and works be carried out on the Teeling Monument in Collooney.”
  3. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Clarke:
    “That Sligo County Council declares a housing emergency and calls on Minister Darragh O’Brien to declare a National Emergency, and a report to be provided on the current position of Sligo County Council’s housing waiting list numbers and number of emergency housing availability for domestic violence.”
  4. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor T. MacSharry:
    “That Sligo County Council remove the bollards at the sea front in Strandhill."
  5. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Clarke:
    “That Sligo County Council develop a Tourism Infrastructural Masterplan, for facilities ie; Toilets, Campervans and Car parking, Road access and Signage. The Masterplan should be on statutory footing going on public display and to include public consultation.  Areas like Dunmoran Strand, Aughris Head, Trawee Beach, Easkey Pier, Rathlee Enniscrone, Stranhill, Rosses Point, Mullaghmore Head, and other sites to be included by public consultation and elected Members. This Masterplan would be the framework for funding applications.”
  6. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Mulvey:
    “I ask Sligo County Council to write to Eamonn Ryan TD. Minister for Environment, Climate and Communications to deal with the backlog of applications in SEAI with the Warmer Home Scheme.”

    “To ask for an update on footpath improvement works in the villages of Cliffoney and Grange.”

    “Given the expected numbers due in our coastal resorts this summer I call upon the government to provide additional assistance to coastal communities to assist them in making all our visitors welcome while also protecting our vulnerable environments. Can Sligo County Council also install traffic counters at our seaside resorts to ascertain the numbers of visitors and assist with future planning.”
  15. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Bree:
    “Conscious of the fact that at its monthly meeting in July 2019, Sligo County Council unanimously adopted the following motion: “Noting that serious allegations of fraud have been made in relation to the distribution of postal votes in the Ballymote/Tubbercurry electoral area this Council calls on the Garda authorities to carry out a full and comprehensive investigation into the matter”; this meeting resolves to ask the Minister for Justice and the Garda Commissioner if the full and comprehensive investigation has been carried out by the Garda authorities and the outcome of same.”
  16. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Bree:
    “That a report be provided indicating (A) the number of Council houses where housing adaptation works were carried out in 2018, 2019 and 2020; (B) the cost of the works in each year; (C) the number of applicants still awaiting works to be carried out and the number of years said applicants have been on the waiting list (d) the estimated cost of the outstanding works.”
  17. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor T. Fox:
    “At the ordinary meeting of Sligo County Council held last December I introduced the motion “To call on Sligo County Council to clarify the bye laws on consumption of alcohol in public spaces and the enforcement of these laws.”

    In light of the reopening of society and with the recent public disorder in our cities and towns nationally can this meeting have an update in relation to this issue in County Sligo.”

    “Ask Sligo County Council to secure funding to carry out a feasibility and technical study of Enniscrone pier and harbour.”

    “Has Sligo County Council applied to the Department for funding to carry out coastal protection works in west Sligo for this year.”

    “That this local Authority Calls on The Coalition government of Fianna Fáil Fine Gael & the Green Party to abolish without further delay the money been extorted from home owners of this country under the pretence of a property tax. “

    “In light of the lands purchased for the purposes of a new build Garda Station at Caltragh in 2018 that Sligo County Council now call on the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform and the Minister of State at the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform with special responsibility for the Office of Public Works to outline what plans are in place for these lands.”

    “To call on Sligo County Council to engage with Irish Water on the provision of a wastewater treatment system for Ballygawley Village and provide update on same.”

    “That Sligo County Council carry out a safety assessment of the Aughamore Junction on the R287 at Carraroe with a view to making this crossroads safer.”
