    “In the interest of business and economic development in County Sligo, I will ask what is the Council’s/National Roads Authority (T.I.I.) Policy on business advertising signs already erected along the National Primary road, the N17”.
  2. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor S. Maguire:
    “That this Council write to the Minister for Health advocating that we adopt an organ opt out system similar to that recently introduced in France.”
  3. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor S. Maguire:
    “That Sligo County Council will conduct a survey of the roundabout at Strandhill to establish a safer crossing system for pedestrians.”
  4. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor J. Lundy:
    “To ask for a report on
    1. the Town and Village Renewal Scheme 2017 and
    2. the Revitalising Rural Ireland Scheme”.
  5. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor J. Lundy:
    “I will ask Sligo County Council and T.I.I. to put measures in place to reduce the speed of traffic on the Circular Road, Tubbercurry (N17), in the interest of road safety, and to help reduce the risk of accidents to Motorists and Pedestrians alike”.
  6. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Clarke:
    “To call on Sligo County Council to apply for funding to extend Pullaheany Pier and to carry out repairs on Pulladivva Pier”.
  7. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Casserly:
    “That Sligo County Council supports the Independent Alliance’s, ‘Keeping People in their Homes Bill 2017’ which has been introduced to the Dáil and aims to provide protection to home owners facing repossession and gives clarity to Irish courts on examining the proportionality of granting or executing repossession orders on people’s homes.”

    “That this Council writes to the management of Sligo University Hospital to ask that efforts are made to ensure free car parking for cancer patients or a designated family member or carer during their treatment.”
  2. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Bree:
    “That this council requests the management of Sligo University Hospital and the HSE to provide free car parking for cancer patients or a designated family member or carer during the cancer patients treatment at the hospital.”
  3. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor S. Kilgannon:
    “Sligo County Council calls on the Minister for Planning, Housing and Local Government Mr. Simon Coveney, T.D. to make available additional resources to Sligo County Council to support the increased social and economic demands due to Brexit.

    Should this motion be agreed by Sligo County Council, I request that it is circulated to all Local Authorities along the Border.”
  4. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor R. O’Grady:
    “That Sligo County Council write to the Management of Sligo University Hospital to ask that efforts are made to ensure free car parking for cancer patients or a family member or carer during their period of treatment.”

    “That Sligo County Council upgrade the road surface along the L3202 at the junction where it meets the L3203 at Streedagh.”

    5. Reference and Local Studies Library;

    Further, that this report should include the non-staffing costs associated with each of a, b, c and d above for the years 2015, 2016 and end-of-year 2017.”

    “That Sligo County Council prepare a report on provision of roadside barriers or other viable alternatives to prevent vehicles coming off the road on the R284 at Carrownadargney, Geevagh.”

    That Sligo County Council calls on the Government to establish an Oireachtas all-party group to bring forward a Green Paper for Unity.”

    “That Sligo County Council write to the Ulster Bank Chief Executive strongly opposing the move to close its Ballymote Branch.”

    "That Sligo County Council Roads department would resurface road no L7404, specifically in the townland of Cullaghbeg, Drumcliffe in the interests of Health and Safety."

    "That Sligo County Council would provide the following as requested by the Carraroe and District Regeneration Association
    1. Erect a directional sign on the roundabout at Carrraroe for St John's RC Church.”

    "That Sligo County Council engineering department fence off the boundary that has opened up between Heather view and Meadowvale estates to prevent anti-social behaviour".
  21. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Casserly:
    “That Sligo County Council calls on Agriculture Minister, Michael Creed, to call an emergency meeting of E.U. Ministers to implement an immediate ban of Brazilian beef and other food products following shocking weekend revelations about the alleged behaviour of Brazilian beef and poultry exporters.”
  22. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor S. Kilgannon and Councillor K. Henry:
    “To request Sligo County Council to write to the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Mr. Shane Ross TD. calling for his support that Galway's Harbour be up graded to a minimum status as a Tier 2 Harbour.

    The development of Galway Harbour to a Tier 2 Harbour has the potential to benefit the entire region.”
  23. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Clarke:
    “Given that, In Ireland an average of 30,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed each year. The number is expected to rise to over 40,000 per year by 2020. we will have 25% more Cancer patients so we need to plan for the capacity required, which means we need more capacity in our existing centres of excellence and a number of new centres of excellence. Now that the economy is recovering its now time to act. We the members of Sligo county council call on the Minister for Health, Simon Harrison TD, to plan and develop a new centre of excellence for cancer patients at Sligo General to provide a world class service for the 400,000 people of the North West.”
  24. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Mulvey:
    “That Sligo County Council would write to Ulster Bank CEO Gerry Mallon in response to the announcement that the Ballymote branch of Ulster Bank which is in existence since the 1800s and now is confirmed as one of the 22 branches listed for closure, requesting that training, counselling and workshops should be provided for the loyal customers like business owners, farmers, householders etc. who are now been forced to switch to online banking.

    This will be a completely new challenge for certain customers particularly those in rural areas that may have poor broadband and no knowledge of how this service works, and also explain to business customer what measures can be put in place to avoid greater security risks for having to hold extra cash etc on their premises.

    People in south Sligo will now have to also look at what options are available at other facilities such as Credit Unions and I am calling on the Government to re examine and increase the services Credit Unions can provide for customers.”
  25. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor R. O’Grady:
    “That Sligo County Council commences the process of providing footpath and lighting from Lissadell Park to Oxfield GAA and Community Centre.”
  26. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor R. O’Grady:
    “That Sligo County Council review the speed limit on the Grange to Streedagh Road.”
  27. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Bree:
    “That this Council calls on the Minister for Transport Mr Shane Ross, to ensure that a Sectoral Employment Order (SEO) is issued as a matter of urgency for bus workers. Such an order under the Industrial Relations (Amendment) Act 2015 would protect bus drivers’ terms and conditions of employment in both the public and private sectors.  It would mean that any competition between Bus Éireann and private operators would be based on the quality and efficiency of the service provided and not on driving down workers’ pay and conditions; and further the Council calls for the restoration of State funding/state subvention, for Bus Éireann, which was cut from €50 million to €33.7 million in the period 2009 to 2015.”

    “That this Council expresses its disappointment at the proposed closure of The Ulster Bank in Ballymote and calls on the CEO (Ulster Bank) Gerry Mallon to reverse the decision”.
