  1. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor S. Mac Manus and T. Healy
    “That Sligo Co Council supports the recent industrial action forced on the lecturers of St Angela’s College and calls on the National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG) to engage with the genuine concerns of the lecturers by entering into discussions with the TUI on all issues of concern surrounding the proposed incorporation of St Angela’s into NUIG.”
  2. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Clarke
    “Sligo County Council now calls on the Minister for Justice to review the Bail laws for those people suspected of violent crime. Data released by the Department of Justice shows that: NINE MURDERS recorded in Ireland in the first nine months of 2012 were carried out by offenders who are suspected to have been on bail at the time of the attack, new figures have shown. A total of 52 murders have been committed since 2007 by individuals who have been on bail from the penal system. In addition, one manslaughter was committed by someone on bail, as were 17 sexual offences – including seven sexual assaults, six rapes and two defilements of someone under the age of 17.”
  3. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor E. Scanlon
    “To ask Sligo County Council to provide a safety barrier along the railway bridge at Carrownanty, Ballymote.”
  4. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor E. Scanlon
    “To invite representatives from the various mobile phone providers to attend a meeting of Sligo County Council to discuss the issue of the inadequate mobile phone reception being provided to rural areas in particular, Keash, Culfadda, Ballinfad and Bunninadden areas.  Local communities are implementing a Text Alert System but without proper mobile phone signal and service it will not be achievable.  This Text Alert System is vital for so many residents and it is paramount that they feel safe living in this locality.”
  5. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor E. Scanlon
    “To seek clarification from the Council as to when Castlegrove and Castleburn developments will be taken in charge by Sligo County Council.”
  6. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor T. Mac Sharry
    “That Sligo County Council investigate the serious level of illegal dumping currently taking place on the roadside on the Holy Well road, leading from the Holy Well in to town and also do a report for Councillors in conjunction with the Carraroe Community Regeneration Association, on the feasibility and costing of urgently needed upgrading of the slipway and resurfacing works in the area including the car park, having regard to the natural beauty of this well known area, which has been protected and maintained for its historic and natural beauty.”
  7. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor J. Lundy
    “To ask Sligo County Council to remove the burden of commercial rates from early childhold care and educational facilities in Co. Sligo, as is the case with all other educational premises, both public and private throughout the country.”

    “That, immediate steps be taken to make safe junction south of Ballinacarrow Village that exits onto the N17.”
  2. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Clarke
    “To call on the government to provide for the following motion.  That the Seanad Electoral (Panel Members) Act 1947 be amended to provide for the nomination of Seanad Candidates on the same date as the nomination of candidates to the Dáil and that candidates who wish to run for either the Dáil or the Seanad declare those intentions on the same date.”
  3. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Mulvey
    “To call on Sligo County Council to work with the newly formed Tubbercurry Economic Development Company which will be based in the former Aurivo Head Office in Tubbercurry.  This concept has a very successful template in 130 Centres all over the Country and will see the Community working with State agencies.

    Mr Joe Kelly Chairman of the National Organisation which represents Communities at Government attended the recent meeting.” 
  4. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Mulvey
    “To Call on Sligo County Council to put in additional traffic calming measures at Coláiste Muire School Ballymote.”
  5. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor J. Queenan
    “Ask the County Manager to consider leasing council property to Easkey Community Council re. toilet and shower block at Easkey castle to enable the Community Council have toilet and shower facilities opened for tourists and local people.”

    “Ask the County Manager to give update on proposed bye-laws along Rd 79 Bunnhowna, Easkey.”

    “To ask the County Manger to make representations to Irish Water to ensure that funding is made available for coastal erosion works adjoining Enniscrone sewerage plant and coastal walk.”

    That Sligo County Council calls on the Minister for Jobs Mr Richard Bruton to treat Sligo as Special Location for Job creation as a result of the pending job losses at the ELANCO Plant at the Finisklin industrial park in Sligo.”

    “That Sligo County Council Roads Department would request Sligo Institute of Technology, Civil Engineering 4th year students to carry out a Traffic Survey in Sligo Town as a final year project.”

    “That we be provided with the up-to-date position on the completion and taking in charge of Springvale Estate, Tubbercurry.”
  11. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Mulvey
    “To call on Sligo County Council to contact the NRA as to the urgency for reduced speed limits along the N59 From Burkes Stairs factory to below Dromard Post office.

    This stretch of road has many community facilities located along the main road and which are used daily. The Speed of traffic along this stretch of road is of major concern to people living in this area who attend the Community Centre, Health Centre, Church, Cemetery, Post Office and other facilities. The safety of Motorists and Pedestrians going to and returning home from these facilities must be improved.”
  12. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Casserly
    “That Sligo County Council introduce a Small Business Grant Scheme for 2016 which provides for a grant of up to 5% of the annual rates bill (excluding arrears) on each commercial rated premises, subject to a maximum annual grant of €250.00 and subject to certain terms and conditions being met. The Grant may be payable by means of a reduction in the annual rate demand for the commercial premises and is applied at the end of the financial year.”
  13. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Casserly
    “To call on the Government to give a date for the commencement of the Construction Contracts Act. This would ensure amongst other things that smaller contractors would get paid the correct amount they are owed and on time.”
  14. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor Sean MacManus
    “That this Council would acknowledge and welcome the contribution made to tourism development in Sligo by the opening of the Queen Maeve Trail from Strandhill to Knocknarea. In consideration of the volume of people using this new walking facility can we be informed of the councils plans regarding litter collection on the route and also if the toilet which was removed from the car-park at Grange North some time ago will be replaced.”
  15. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor Sean MacManus
    “That Sligo Co Council write to the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation noting on-going concerns regarding the negative impact on Irish jobs, the environment, agriculture, regulation and public policy arising from the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) EU-US trade agreement, ask that the Minister reconsider his support for the Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) mechanism following publication of the findings of the European Commission’s public consultation on TTIP which revealed 97% opposition to the inclusion of an ISDS clause, and that his official’s forward a detailed update on the negotiations to the Council members.” 
  16. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor Sean MacManus
    “To ask if Sligo Co Council intends to make an application for funding to the CITyFIED project for funding towards developing an energy efficient project in Sligo city.”
  17. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Bree
    “That (1) the guidelines/criteria for applicants for arts funding for key venues and organisations and for community arts under the Contribution to the Arts (FO5) be advertised; and that arts organisations and venues be invited to apply for grant aid; and that a closing date for such applications be fixed by the Council; and (2) the guidelines and criteria for applicants for funding for tourism development and promotion (DO4) be advertised; and that applicants be invited to apply for grant aid; and that a closing date for such applications be fixed by the Council.”

    “That the Housing Office provide a breakdown of the number of points allocated to a household on the Housing Waiting List on receipt of a written request.”

    “That the Council calls on the HSE to clarify its proposals relating to the provision of Day Care Services for the elderly in the North Sligo area; the report to include details of the service currently provided in the Cliffoney, Grange, Carrigans area and the proposals, if any, the HSE may has to improve services in North Sligo.”

    “I would like to request a report from the Sligo County Council Parks Department if they have any plans to upgrade the facilities at Forthill public park.”

    I would like to request a report from Sligo County Council on how many vacant properties there are on their books and how many of these properties need renovation.”

    “That Sligo County Council, once more as a matter of urgency, call on the Minister for Health, Leo Varadkar, to provide the necessary funding for the provision of a cardiac catherisation Lab at Sligo Regional Hospital.”

    “That this Council call on Minister Richard Bruton, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, as a matter of urgency to set up a Task Force with the sole purpose of attracting more industries to Sligo, thus securing much needed employment for the area.”
