    “To ask the Director of Services for Infrastructure/Environment what obligation Barna Waste has in the areas, for the collection of Refuse?”

    “That Sligo County Council provides financial support to assist the participation of Joseph Cullen (Strandhill) as a competitor in the Special Olympics in Athens this summer”

  1. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Healy McGowan 
    “To ask the County Manager when will Sligo County Council finalise the proposed suitable traffic calming option at the promenade in Strandhill and further to the current investigations to also look at a more suitable option at the bottom end of the promenade, than the red/white bollards.”
  2. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Healy McGowan 
    “To ask the Director of Services; due to the harsh winter weather conditions, Strandhill beach has retained a lot of stone and a natural shelf has evolved on the western end of the walkway path, I would ask Sligo County Council to clear off as much of the stone and to preserve and enhance the natural shelf as an extension of the walk way”
  3. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Gormley 
    “The lack of manpower to carry out the day to day duties on the road network e.g. pothole repairs which are now craters and is causing undue hardship to the general public; have the Council any plans in place to address the situation and is it possible to  employ people on a temporary basis?”
  4. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor J. Lundy
    “I will ask the County Manager to have the double yellow lines removed from Teeling street, Tubbercurry for a trial period to help solve traffic speed and help promote business on Tubbercurry’s main street; this to be carried out in consultation with the business community, residents and chamber of commerce”
  5. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor V. Cawley
    “That following on from the recent announcement by the Minister of the Environment that €5m has been made available nationally to secure unfinished housing estates.  That a report be given for this Council on what funding has been applied for by Sligo County Council to secure unfinished housing estate in Sligo County, outlining the developments involved, the funding applied for and the safety requirements that funding has been applied for.”

    “To call on Sligo County Council to seek funding to remove the dangerous bend at Carrownacreevy (AJs Bar) Beltra on the N59.”

    “To ask  the County Manager to support the development of a centre of excellence for surfing in Strandhill.”

    “That this council makes every effort in cooperation will local Tidy Towns Committees and other voluntary organizations during the following number of weeks to clean up the scandalous amount off rubbish along our road sides.”

    “That this council calls on the Minister for Agriculture, Simon Coveney to immediately open up the Agri Environmental Scheme to allow farmers who are finished in REPS sufficient time to apply and also maximise payment for 2011.”

    “To call on the Minister for the Environment to introduce a Home Improvement Grant Scheme so that the existing housing stock can be improved in relation to energy efficiency, waste water disposal and water conservation.”

    “I will ask the Director of Services if he will provide road markings stating SLOW DOWN—SCHOOL AHEAD on the N17 north and south of Curry village, as you approach the national school, in the interest of safety for the children and their parents.”

    “To call on the Minister for Environment, Heritage and Local Government, Mr. Phil Hogan, to give a derogation on turf cutting for the coming season.”

    “Realising that an infrastructural deficit exists in the Northwest with resultant impediments to the economic development of County Sligo, this council seeks an urgent meeting between an all-party delegation from Sligo Co. Council with the relevant Ministers in the new government to discuss how best to tackle this matter.Given the history of the previous government in refusing to meet with delegations from this council, we request the Fine Gael T.D's for Sligo/ North Leitrim to use their position in government to assist in organising this meeting as soon as possible. All T.D's representing Sligo/North Leitrim should attend this meeting.Further, in preparation for such a meeting that this council would prepare a memo of relevant data supporting the need for such infrastructural provision.”

    “That Sligo County Council calls on the new government to fulfil it’s electoral promises to the people of Sligo and have the Cancer Care Services restored to Sligo. We also urge them to have Sligo designated as the 9th Centre of Excellence.”

    “To propose that an application be made to the Minister for Housing for additional funding to reduce the waiting list of applicants for Housing Aid for Older People and Housing Adaptation Grants.”
