“That Sligo County Council calls on the Department of Environment to put in place a National Scheme whereby lands transferred under the Land Aggregation Scheme can be used for community facilities including the provision of allotments” -

“That Sligo County Council provides a pedestrian crossing on the Shore Road, Strandhill, adjacent to the junction to The promenade, i.e. close to The Strand Bar; this crossing should be installed on a ramp so that speeding traffic can be curtailed at this busy pedestrian location” -

“Recognising that the State Pension and associated supports form a crucial safety net for the elderly and recognising that over 84% of older people in Ireland rely on the public pension and related supports to keep them from the risk of poverty, and believing that the State pension must not suffer any cuts, direct or indirect, in the next budget, this Council declares its support for the campaign to defend the State Pension organised by the Older and Bolder Alliance and calls on the Taoiseach and the Government to make long term commitment to a fair and secure State Pension now and in the future” -

“Noting that in excess of €4million of public monies was paid into an account designed to provide training for low-paid public services workers and further noting the Comptroller and Auditor Generals report that public service procurement rules and expenditure controls and reporting structures were all completely ignored and that some of the money was used to pay for at least 31 foreign trips by senior officials; this Council welcomes the decision of the Public Accounts Committee to investigate the activities of the SKILL training programme and the national health and local authorities levy fund account, and we call on the Health Service Executive and the Local Government Management Services Board to cooperate fully with the investigation” -

“Due to the difficulties residents have on the Charlestown Road, Tubbercurry whereby people with disabilities, mothers with prams and buggies are unable to use the footpath because its too narrow forcing them out onto the N17, that this Council calls on the National Roads Authority to provide funding for the provision of proper footpaths along this stretch of road; also that traffic calming measures be put in place near The Rectory to slow down traffic as they approach the town” -
