    “In view of the fact that Breastcheck has been introduced into the Tubbercurry area, that this Council ask the HSE and Dept of Health to give a date as to when it will be rolled out to all areas of County Sligo”

    “Sligo County Council welcomes the completion of Sligo Main Drainage Works and also the fact that the wastewater treatment plant is now operational. This facility will serve not only Sligo Town but also in the future, surrounding areas including: Ballincar/Cregg/Rosses Point/
    Carrowroe/Teesan/Lisnalurg/Hazelwood/Ballinode/Cummeen.”
  12. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Bree
    “That the Council be provided with an up to date report on discussions/negotiations that have taken place with the Board of Management and Parents Association of Strandhill National School in respect of road safety issues and also with regard to the offer made by the school to the Council, of road frontage which may be used for road improvements and road widening, and further to ask that a meeting be arranged with relevant Council staff and representatives of the school and elected representatives so as to identify and resolve any outstanding issues."
  13. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor V. Cawley
    “That this Council agree that any contracts agreed under the Housing Leasing Agreement scheme will include a rent review clause, that this clause will allow for rents to be reviewed for higher and lower rent payments. Further, that a clause be included that will allow for discussion of the possible purchase of the houses leased long term at 5 year intervals and the wording of these clauses to be done with the advice of the relative Government Department.”

    “That this Council investigate the feasibility of using Council lands at different locations throughout the County for the provision of allotments for gardening purposes.”

Specifically this meeting should discuss the possibility of Sligo County Council and all local authorities having an involvement with FÁS in the running of Community Employment Schemes.”

    “Tp propose that funding be sought from the NRA and the Minister for Transport to carry out improvement works on the National Primary route N17 from Rhue to junctions with Regional Road R294, to include footpaths at Gallagher Terrace, road widening and provision of a roundabout at junction.”

    “To request the Minister for Education to reduce the qualifying age for mature students from the present 23 years to 21 years.”

    “That this Council requests the Ambulance Section of the HSE for the up-to-date position on the
    1. Ambulance Base for South Sligo and
    2. Confirmation that the First Responder Vehicle located in the Tubbercurry Area is not to be withdrawn”

    1. “To ask the County Manager what, if anything (in addition to attendance at a meeting with the owners of Lissadell) he and his staff have done to resolve the crisis at Lissadell pursuant to the Council’s motion of January 2009 and in particular to ask the County Manager to specify the number of days over and above the time specified for the delivery of a defence to the High Court proceedings between the owners of Lissadell and the Council, the Council is in default of doing same and why?”
    2. “To ask the County Manager when, if ever, the Council Members will be given access to the legal advice concerning the alleged rights of way at Lissadell and to ask the County Manager:-
      • Whether or not a cost/benefit analysis has been conducted on the basis of the Council’s legal advice and it’s prospects of success in the High Court proceedings against it concerning Lissadell, and
      • Who will make the decision as to the allocation of ratepayer’s money to the conduct of those proceedings?”

    “With the ever increasing numbers of families facing the prospect of unemployment and many more faced with increasing costs of private healthcare, I am proposing that the Minister for Social and Family Affairs and the HSE should ensure that applications for General Medical Service Cards are processed with greater urgency and decisions on assessments issued in shorter space of time.”

    “That this Council calls on the HSE to reverse its decision to have applications for Medical Cards taken from the local Community Welfare Officers to a central location in Dublin.”

    “To ask the County Manager to confirm in clear terms whether or not two Senior Members of the Council Executive are or have been members of the Lissadell Action Group and if so:-
    1. Whether or not it was appropriate in the interests of transparency that such persons should have disclosed their interest and/or left a meeting of Sligo Council on the 1st December 2008 when a resolution concerning alleged rights of way at Lissadell was discussed and voted on,And
    2. Whether or not he accepts that the fact that two Members of the Council Executive are members of the Lissadell Action Group (if it is a fact) and as such may hold a bias view on the part of the Council in dealing with (or omitting to deal with) matters concerning the important tourism attraction that is Lissadell House?”
