Minutes of Sligo Local Traveller Accommodation Consultative Committee (LTACC) Meeting on Tuesday 6th May at 10.00am

5. Caravan Loan Scheme (CLS)

Approval letter going out today. 2 loans. A total of 4 families applied, there’s a possibility of an extra loan later in the year if other counties don’t use their allocation.

 

6. Update on progress for TAP 2025-2029

No change

 

7. To Note reports on Capital projects

Noted: slow G.I. Ballyfree :1st week in June, can’t submit stage 2 until G.I report is received.
Cloonamahon: New brief, 3 houses, hold up as above. Discussion was had in relation to the provision of permanent welfare units in the transient bays. Cost analysis is to be undertaken and discussed at the next meeting.
Glenview: retender due to inclusion of decant site.

9. Any Other Business

NTACC: CLS and Anchor Project to be discussed at NTACC under culturally appropriate accommodation. Request for energy poverty to be included.

Discussion was had about providing modular homes for 9 families, with the support of CENA.  Brian is to be asked to attend the next LTACC meeting.

Other issues discussed were the 3 grounds of housing transfers (downsizing, overcrowding and medical need) and the difference between swaps and transfers in the Council.
