Minutes of Sligo Local Traveller Accommodation Consultative Committee (LTACC) Meeting on Tuesday 16th October 2023 at 10am

Welcome Councillor O’Grady to the Committee.

 

2. CENA:

A talk in relation to the work CENA have undertaken in conjunction with Sligo County Council with a number of Traveller families. CENA has approval for 1 CAS application to purchase a property in Sligo. Several suggestions were put forward to try and speed up the process when a property is submitted for consideration to buy. The ceiling caps for the purchase of properties were discussed, set by department and Sligo County Council cannot approve properties that come in more than maximum costs.

7. To Note reports on Capital projects

Noted: Glenview going to tender and to Council meeting. No update on Ballyfree and Cloonamahon in relation to connection to mains. SCC intend to start individual extensions at Ballyfree while waiting on outcome of IW.

 

8. Update on progress for TAP 1st July 2019-30th June 2024

TAP target for 1st July 2023 -30th June 2024 is 17 and 2 have been achieved to date, 11% of this year’s target.

 

9. Fire Safety

10. Caravan Loan Scheme

Sligo County Council got 2 loans approved by department while it had 9 applications, more needed and were waiting to see if any other LA did not use up their quota which the dept would redistribute.

 

Any Other Business

  • Write to Councillor Martin Baker and Councillor Paul Taylor in relation to their nonattendance of meetings.
  • Census coming up STSG to provide names of new family formations.
  • Congratulations to STSG on the excellent seminar on mental health.
