Minutes of LTACC Meeting on Monday 22nd November 2019 at 10 am in Training Room, County Hall, Riverside, Sligo

Correspondence

Correspondence was received from Irish Traveller Movement (ITM) with regard to them liaising with Sligo Traveller Support Group (STSG) in respect to STSG taking up their nominated roles on the LT ACC.

Traveller Accommodation Program (TAP) 

TAP 2014-2018 106% of targets reached during the lifetime of the previous program; these do not include 10 achieved from 1st January 2020 - 30th June 2020.

TAP 1st July 2019 - 30th June 2024, 10 families housed with 6 more tenancies signed up that are not included in the summary. 66 families to be accommodated over the life time of the current plan ahead of schedule at the present.

Capital Projects 

Ballyfree

  • Tender documents have been put up on e-tenders for the construction of a 3 bedroom extension of Bay 6.
  • New stoves and chimneys relined in bay 1 and 2 with bay 8 commencing Monday 25th November, only bay 4 left to do as part of the fire safety works.
  • Bathroom upgrades complete as part of HAW grants for bay 1 and 3 with bay 8 commencing Monday 25th November.
  • Bay 7 renovated with allocation currently been processed.

Glenview

  • Works progressing on schedule on the refurbishment of the 6 bays in Glenview
  • Conversation of Community room into accommodation for resident of site

Alma Terrace 

  • Renovation complete and 4 families have moved in bringing to a good resolution to a historical issue.

Collooney Housing 

  • 2 units as part of the larger housing estate on schedule for completion.

Cloonamahon

  • Electrical upgrades for 5 caravan connections in the design phase to be completed before Christmas

Working with ESB networks around providing individual MPRN numbers to individual units at Alma Terrace, Ballyfree and the new 6 bay site at Glenview.


A discussion regarding Sligo County Council drawn down of funding from the department for Traveller Accommodation, it noted that all claims had not yet been submitted to department and Sligo County Council has exceeded their allocated funding on extra projects some of which were highlighted above.

Fire Safety 

A summary of all fire safety incentives and ongoing checks was presented (a copy is attached) 

Standing Orders

A discussion took place regarding the Standing Orders. A draft of revised Standing Orders was circulated with the agenda. It was proposed by Bartley Gavin, seconded by Gino O'Boyle and agreed to adopt the draft Standing Orders as circulated. The revision brings the Standing Orders into line with the Housing (Traveller Accommodation) Act 1998.
