    1. Deferred from 16th December 2022, 31st March, 30th June and 6th October JPC Meetings - Received from Councillor T. Healy:
      “To call on the Garda to carry out a speed check on the R290 from Collooney to Ballisodare and on the Ballisodare to Crowna Church on the N59.  Both are a major concern to residents regarding speed coming into Ballisodare village”
    2. Received from Councillor G. Mullaney:
      “To ask for additional speed checks on the N4 between Ballinafad and Collooney”
    3. Received from Councillor M. Casserly:
      “To seek a progress report on the new Garda Station plan since our last JPC meeting”
    4. Received from Councillor M. Casserly:
      “How many checkpoints have been carried out in the Sligo division over the past 12 months and  to provide a report on the roads policing unit in this division”

      “Following on from previous motion at the JPC meeting on 24th June 2022, where I called for An Garda Síochána to address the concerns from residents in Ballinacarrow on the issue of speeding vehicles going through the village, which I raised and spoke on at the Municipal meeting of Sligo County Council on January 17th 2024.
      On Monday 20th November the Green Schools Committee carried out their own speed test on vehicles with the help of the Green schools travel officer and a speed gun. The results were quite shocking. Out of 179 vehicles, 94 were speeding; the speed limit is 50km/hr some of these vehicles were travelling at 79km/hr, 85km/hr was the fastest speed we detected. Can I get an update, please?”

      “ Will the meeting please give an update on the new Garda Barrick in Tubbercurry and a timeframe  as to when the work will go to tender and then progress to construction”

      “That Sligo County Council calls on the Minister for Justice and the Garda Commissioner to provide the necessary resources in terms of Gardai and appropriate vehicles to the Sligo Roads Policing Unit. That the same be relayed also to the Taoiseach and Tánaiste.”
