On 15 and 22 April 2024, having considered the Draft Sligo County Development Plan 2024-2030 (CDP) and the Second Chief Executive’s Report on the submissions received, the Members of Sligo County Council resolved to propose amendments to the Draft CDP.

Some of the proposed amendments, if made, would be material alterations of the Draft CDP.

Pursuant to Section 12(7)(aa) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended), the Planning Authority has determined that strategic environmental assessment and appropriate assessment are required in respect of some of the proposed material alterations of the Draft CDP.

In accordance with Section 12(7)(ab) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended), the Chief Executive has specified that a period of up to 6 weeks following the passing of the aforementioned resolution is required to facilitate the strategic environmental assessment and appropriate assessment.

The proposed amendments of the Draft CDP and the associated assessments will be placed on public display after the completion of the assessments. A further notice will be published before that date.
