Proposed Development - Robbers Lane, Maugheraboy

Notice Under the Local Government (Planning and Development Regulations 2001, Part 8 (Article 81) (As Amended)

Notice is hereby given that the Council proposes to carry out works consisting of:

  1. The construction of 62 no. Social Housing Dwellings of 2 and 3 storeys in height consisting of 12 no. 1 bedroom apartments, 36 no. 2 bedroom apartments, 10 no. 3 bedroom duplex apartments, 2 no. 3 bedroom houses and 2 no. 4 bedroom duplex apartments with associated ancillary car parking spaces, 2 new vehicular estate roads accessed from Robbers Lane, junction upgrades at Church Hill/Robbers Lane/Treacy Avenue (Post Office junction), road widening of Robbers Lane adjacent to development site, diversion of and connection to existing foul and surface water network, on site surface water attenuation system, partially culverting existing stream and a new surface water overflow pond.
  2. The construction of 2 no. Multi Use Games Areas (pitches) and a Children’s playpark.

All associated landscaping and site development works are included. The site is located at Robbers Lane, Maugheraboy Townland, Sligo.

Sligo County Council has concluded from a preliminary examination, that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development and that an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is not required. Any person may, within 4 weeks from the date of this notice, apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the proposed development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment (i.e. requires an EIA).

Plans and full particulars of the proposed development are available for inspection, or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy, online at or, during office hours at the Main Foyer, County Hall, Riverside, Sligo, from Tuesday 24th August 2021 to Wednesday 22nd September 2021 (both dates inclusive).  COVID-19 Protocols will be in place in the foyer of County Hall in terms of social distancing and self sanitizing procedures before and following any review of the Part 8 document that are on display.

Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and development of the area in which the development would be situated, may be made on-line by registering on the portal or in writing and submitted to the undersigned not later than 4pm on Wednesday 6th October 2021.
