The Draft Register of Electors 2022/2023 is now being compiled. The Register of Electors, based on the revised Draft Register, will come into effect on 15th February 2022.
Registration of Electors 2022/2023 - Co Sligo
YOU CANNOT VOTE UNLESS YOUR NAME IS INCLUDED IN THE REGISTER AND IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT YOU ARE REGISTERED
Only persons whose names appear on the Register of Electors will be entitled to vote in Referenda and/or Dáil or Local Government Elections and/or European Assembly Elections held between 15th February 2022 and 14th February 2023.
Sligo County Council, as Registration Authority, takes every possible care to ensure that the names of eligible persons are included on the Register.
EVERY PERSON WHO WILL HAVE REACHED 18 YEARS OF AGE ON OR BEFORE 15TH FEBRUARY 2022 should ensure his/her inclusion on the Register by submitting an application form to the Corporate Services Section, Sligo County Council, County Hall, Riverside, Sligo by 1st October 2021. You can check if you are already registered on www.checktheregister.ie
IT IS A REQUIREMENT THAT YOU INCLUDE YOUR DATE OF BIRTH AND EIRCODE ON YOUR APPLICATION FORM.
SPECIAL VOTERS’ LIST
If you have a physical illness or physical disability that is likely to continue for the duration of the Register (12 months from 15th February 2022), and you are ordinarily resident in a hospital, in a nursing home or similar institution for persons with a physical illness or physical disability, you should now apply for inclusion on the Special Voters List 2022/2023 by completing an application form SV1 and returning same to Sligo County Council not later than 25th November, 2021.
POSTAL VOTERS’ LIST
- Postal Voters List for electors living at home who are unable to go in person to vote because of a physical illness or physical disability
If you have a physical illness or physical disability that is likely to continue for the duration of the Register (12 months from the 15th February, 2022) and you are unable to go in person to vote at your polling station due to same and you wish to vote by post from your home, you should now apply for inclusion on the Postal Voters List 2022/2023 by completing an application form PV1 and returning same to Sligo County Council not later than 25th November, 2021.
- Postal Voters List for electors unable to vote at their polling station due to circumstances of occupation/education:
If you are likely to be unable to go in person on polling day to vote at your polling station because of circumstances of occupation, service or employment, or because you are participating on a full-time basis on an educational course of study at an educational institution in the State, you should now apply for inclusion on the Postal Voters List 2022/2023 by completing an application form PV2 and returning same to Sligo County Council not later than 25th November, 2021.
- Postal Voters List for electors unable to vote at their polling station due to circumstances of their detention in a prison pursuant to an order of a court.
If you are likely to be unable to go in person on polling day to vote at your polling station because of the circumstances of your detention in a prison pursuant to an order of a court, you should now apply for inclusion on the Postal Voters List 2022/2023 by completing an application form RFG and returning same to Sligo County Council not later than 25th November, 2021.
