The National Directorate for Fire and Emergency management hosted a briefing by Met Éireann this afternoon and advised that warnings may be issued for potentially stormy conditions and a storm may be named. However there is a lot of uncertainty still regarding the extent, timing and affected regions with several deepening lows tracking across or close to the country between Saturday and Monday or Tuesday.
Strong winds, periods of heavy rainfall and the risk of coastal and surface flooding are possible over the coming days. Sligo County Council urges the public to exercise caution when out and about over the next number of days particularly in exposed coastal areas.
