The Blue Flag is a certification given to beaches and marinas which meet certain standards of environmental management.
Beaches that achieve this award must comply with a specific set of criteria relating to water quality, information provision, environmental education, safety and beach management.
The competition is part of the Council’s Blue Flag educational activities.
