Counting has resumed here in the Count Centre at Sligo Park Hotel, with the Surplus votes of Tom MacSharry been distributed.

9th June - 11.50 am

Count 4 of the Sligo-Strandhill LEA is taking place, with the distribution of Diarmuid Mac Conville and Jim Lawlor votes.

Fergal Nealon has been elected to Sligo County Council with the distribution of Decal Bree's Surplus Votes - Count 2.

9th June 2024 - 00.10 am

COUNT 2 of the Sligo-Strandhill LEA is currently underway, with the distribution of Declan Bree's Surplus Votes.

8th June 2024 - 11.45 pm

Declan Bree and Tom MacSharry have been re-elected to Sligo County Council on the first count having exceeded the quota.

Counting and sorting of papers is underway for the Ballymote-Tubbercurry LEA and Sligo-Strandhill LEA.

Tallying of the European Election & Local Election votes are now complete in #Sligo. All European Election ballot papers are now to be transferred to Castlebar count centre, for counting tomorrow. 

Counting will shortly get underway on the Ballymote-Tubbercurry LEA and Sligo-Strandhill LEA, followed by the Sligo-Drumcliffe LEA.

Tallying of the European Election and Local Election papers is continuing here at the count centre in Sligo Park Hotel.
When the tallying is complete, Counting will then get underway on the Ballymote-Tubbercurry LEA and Sligo-Strandhill LEA, followed by the Sligo-Drumcliffe LEA.

Tomorrow, Saturday 8th June, we will be posting results for every count on our website at www.sligococo.ie/Elections2024/CountResults/ - we are not expecting results until late evening but we will keep you up-to-date across our social media channels and website during the day.

The following arrangements are in place for the Count Centre, Sligo Park Hotel, Sligo, on Saturday 8th June. These arrangements are provisional only and are subject to change.

The opening / tallying of the European Election and Local Elections will get underway at 9am. On completion, the European ballot papers will be transferred to the Regional Count Centre in Castlebar.

Counting will then get underway on the Ballymote-Tubbercurry LEA and Sligo-Strandhill LEA, followed by the Sligo-Drumcliffe LEA.

While this sequence is subject to change, we will keep people informed at every stage of the process.
