Surface Water Monitoring

There is an extensive surface water monitoring programme in place covering 32 rivers and 18 lakes in the County.

In 2004, 488 surface water samples were taken. Results of this monitoring are used to access the nutrient inputs to each catchment and to implement appropriate policies and actions as necessary.
