Dog Breeding Establishments

Do you keep six or more female dogs which are more than six months old and capable of breeding?  

If yes, then you need to register with Sligo County Council. Please be aware, that even though they may be your pets, the regulations cover dogs even when they are not used for, or never will be used for breeding purposes.

This is in accordance with the Dog Breeding Establishment Act 2010, which came into effect on 1st January 2012

A failure to register with your local authority is an offence under the regulations.
