Environmental Awareness
Environmental awareness is a key objective of the Environment Section of Sligo County Council and the awareness programme considers current legislation and plans when developing awareness material. Sligo County Council promotes Waste Prevention, Litter Management, the Transition to a Circular economy, Resource Conservation, and good Environmental Practices, including the support for Biodiversity and the Climate Action.
The promotion of best environmental practices is achieved through engagement with households, community groups, businesses, and schools. Environmental awareness is promoted through local and national initiatives that are published through local press and social media.
