Draft Parking Places Bye-Laws 2024 and Draft Car Park Bye-Laws 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Borough District of Sligo in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Local Government Acts 1925 to 2014, Section 36 of the Road Traffic Act, 1994, as amended, and by Section 101 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961, as amended, hereby gives notice that it has prepared Draft Parking Places Bye-Laws and Draft Car Park Bye-Laws for the regulation and control of parking in respect of the area comprising of the Municipal District of Sligo.
The Bye-Laws provide for the imposition of a fixed payment in respect of a contravention of a Bye-Law as an alternative to a prosecution, as provided for in Section 206 of the Local Government Act 2001.
The Draft Parking Places Bye-Laws 2024 and Draft Car Park Bye-Laws 2024 can be viewed at the Offices of Sligo County Council, at Riverside and City Hall, from Thursday 5th October 2023 to Friday 10th November 2023 both dates inclusive, from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).

A copy of the Draft Bye Laws may be obtained free of charge from the Roads Department by e-mailing parkingbyelaws@sligococo.ie
The Council will consider submissions and observations on the proposed Draft Bye-Laws which are submitted in writing on or before 4.00 pm on Thursday 23rd November 2023 to The Administrative Officer, Sligo County Council, Roads Section, High Market House, Sligo or via e-mail to parkingbyelaws@sligococo.ie
Submissions should be clearly marked Draft Parking Places Bye-Laws 2024 and Draft Car Park Bye-Laws 2024. Only submissions received as set out above will be considered. Submissions cannot be accepted in any other format or to any other postal address. Submissions and observations should state the name, address and where relevant, the body represented. All comments submitted, including the names and addresses of those making the comments, will form a report to be presented to the members of Sligo County Council, and will form part of a public document.
