    “To ask for a report on how the new ‘Repair and leasing Scheme for vacant houses’ will be carried out and if this Scheme will include vacant houses in rural areas of South Sligo”.
  2. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor J. Lundy:
    “To ask the Council to erect 2 no. “Slow down – Children crossing” signs on Road no. 414 at Curraghahunnaun, Curry on the main Banada to Bellaghy road, in the interest of safety, for children crossing this very busy road to get on the School bus, both morning and evening”.
  3. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor S. Maguire:
    “That Sligo County Council will conduct a survey of the roundabout at Strandhill to establish a safer crossing system for pedestrians.”
  4. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Casserly:
    “That Sligo County Council supports the Independent Alliance’s, ‘Keeping People in their Homes Bill 2017’ which has been introduced to the Dáil and aims to provide protection to home owners facing repossession and gives clarity to Irish courts on examining the proportionality of granting or executing repossession orders on people’s homes.”
  5. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor R. O’Grady:
    “That Sligo Co Council upgrade the road surface along the L3202 at the junction where it meets the L3203 at Streedagh.”
  6. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor R. O’Grady:
    “That Sligo Co Council commences the process of providing footpath and lighting from Lissadell Park to Oxfield GAA and Community Centre.”
  7. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor R. O’Grady:
    “That Sligo County Council review the speed limit on the Grange to Streedagh Road.”

  1. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor T. Healy:
    “To call on Sligo County Council to convene a special meeting regarding implementing a management plan for the Owenmore river with the Minister of the OPW and other stakeholders to meet with members of Sligo County Council”.
  2. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor R. O’Grady:
    “Seeking an update on the Western Distributor Road”.
  3. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor T. Healy:
    “Due to the imminent closure of the Ulster Bank branch in Ballymote it is essential to maintain a full time bank service in the town of Ballymote.

    Sligo County Council calls on the Minister for Finance requesting him to contact the Bank of Ireland. The Bank has a moral obligation to the Irish people and we call on the minister to ensure that the Bank of Ireland provide a five day service in the town of Ballymote and that Sligo County Council would prepare a detailed submission in support of the retention of existing banking Services in Ballymote”.
  4. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor C. MacManus:
    “That Sligo County Council calls on the Minister of Health to rescind his decision to pass ownership of the State-funded National Maternity Hospital to the religious order, the Sisters of Charity.”
  5. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillors D. Bree, T. Healy, C. MacManus, M. Gormley, S. Kilgannon, J. Lundy, K. Henry, J. Queenan, D. Mulvey, S. Maguire, M. Clarke, M. Casserly, T. MacSharry, P. Taylor, H. Keaney, R. O’Grady and M. Baker:
    “That the recreational park located on Forthill, Sligo, be named the O’Boyle Park, in memory of the late Councillor Seamie O’Boyle”.
  6. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Gormley:
    “As funding was provided by the Office of Public Works in 1996 for works on the Owenmore River I am requesting that we the members of Sligo Co Council calls on the Minister with responsibility for the OPW Sean Canney, T.D. to meet a deputation from this council together with representatives from the Owenmore drainage committee and TD’s from this area to highlight the need for funding to alleviate the serious problems this river is causing to householders and landowners”.
  7. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillors D. Bree, C. MacManus and G. O’Boyle:
    “Noting recent reports of diplomatic developments by the Irish state toward full recognition of the state of Palestine, aware also that the Irish Government accorded the Palestinian delegation in Ireland diplomatic status in 2014, the same year that witnessed both Houses of the Oireachtas pass motions in support of Palestinian statehood, this Council will fly the flag of Palestine at County Hall from the 15th of May until the 31st of May 2017 in support of the above diplomatic moves and as a gesture of our solidarity with the people of Palestine living under occupation in the West Bank and Gaza, with the Palestinian citizens of Israel denied basic democratic rights and with the over 7 million displaced Palestinians denied the right of return to their homeland.”
  8. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Mulvey:
    “To call on Sligo County Council to put safe pull in bays along the road leading to Dunmoran strand before the busy summer season due to the soft verge on both sides of this road.”
  9. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor K. Henry:
    “That this Council write to Minister Michael Ring asking him to include Class 2 and 3 County roads in the next phase of CLÁR funding.”
  10. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor K. Henry:
    “That Sligo County Council write to the Minister for Education requesting him to reinstate the appeals process previously operated by The National Council for Special Education with regard to additional educational supports for children in need.”
  11. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Gormley:
    “To ask the Director of Services for a report on the Housing grant applications.

    The numbers received under the different headings Mobility, Disability and Housing Aid for older People in 2016 and 2017.

    How many were approved? What is the position on applications submitted in 2017 will they be approved and funded?”
  12. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Bree:
    “Noting with deep regret the deaths of two citizens in a serious fire which occurred in rented accommodation in Market Street, Sligo, on Saturday 22ndApril 2017; this meeting resolves that a comprehensive report be provided by the Chief Executive indicating:
    1. if and when inspections were carried out on the said premises by Council staff under Section 18 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1992, as amended by the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2009, Housing (Standards for Rented Houses) Regulations 2008, Statutory Instrument No. 534 of 2008 and Housing (Standards for Rented Houses) (Amendment) Regulations 2009, Statutory Instrument No. 462 of 2009;
    2. the outcome of the inspections and whether notices were served on the landlord;
    3. if any legal action was initiated;
    4. if inspections were carried out on the said premises under the Fire Services Acts, 1981 and the outcome of same; and to ask the Chief Executive if he is satisfied that the local authority carried out its obligations as required by legislation.”
  13. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor S. Kilgannon:
    “To request Sligo County Council to contact the Department of Transport and insist that they meet a delegation from this Council regarding the provision of funds to deal with the backlog of Local Improvements schemes which is now entering its 7th year since any works was undertaken under that scheme.

    Rural dwellers whose homes are served by roads eligible under L.I.S. are just as entitled to a safe access to their home as any other section of the community.”
  14. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor S. Kilgannon:
    “I propose that Sligo County Council call on the Minister for Housing, Planning Community and Local Government Mr. Simon Coveney, T.D. to introduce a Home Improvement /Reconstruction grant scheme as soon as possible.”
  15. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor J. Lundy:
    “I will ask Sligo County Council to write to the Minister for Justice and the Office of Public Works (O.P.W.) requesting the provision of a new Garda Station for Tubbercurry as a matter of urgency”.
  16. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor J. Lundy:
    “To ask if any funding has been provided by the Government for the upgrade or provision of disabled parking spaces in Co. Sligo and if any new disabled parking spaces are planned to be introduced over the next 12 months.”
  17. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor P. Taylor:
    “To ask what is the current state/situation with the National Broadband Plan on a county by county basis and have we in Sligo County Council received the Working Plan for County Sligo”.
  18. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Clarke:
    “I call on Sligo County Council to write to Sligo’s Chief Superintendent to comment on the National issue where is was stated in the Oireachtas committee that dishonest Garda was to blame for the exaggerated recorded figures and how does this relate to the Sligo division.

    To ask Chief Superintendent, in relation to 140,000 people that wrongly convictions, how many was in the Sligo Division? and what was been done to put the record straight? and would there be compensation?

    The County Sligo Joint Policing Committee was held on Friday 31st March, 2017 at 10.30am in The Diamond Coast Hotel, Enniscrone, Co. Sligo, attending the County Sligo Joint Policing Committee were; The chief superintendent, two Garda Inspectors and two Garda Sergeants, our Chief executive, one director of service and one Senior  executive officer, I have concerns that the County Sligo Joint Policing Committee is a waste of recourses I call on a debate on this issue.”
  19. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Clarke:
    “To call on Sligo County Council to prepare a report on the issue of the occupancy clause imposed on planning conditions granted. Are those clauses now null and void?”
  20. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor S. Maguire:
    “This council write to Minister for Communications, Denis Naughton seeking confirmation that the necessary resources to ensure that the planned implementation of the national broadband plan for county Sligo is achieved. Further that Sligo County Council will liaise with the local Educational Training Board to ensure that there are training courses available locally to meet the requirements of staffing to complete the broadband rollout.”

    “This council write to Minister of the Environment Simon Coveney seeking an increase in the funding available to protected structures in County Sligo.”

    “To call on Sligo County Council to examine what traffic calming measures can be put in place at Keash Community Park as the existing Clubhouse is due to be demolished soon to make way for modern facilities and there will be less car parking spaces available. Concerned parents that have contacted me state it can be quite dangerous at present for children who are crossing the main Keash to Culfadda road from the training pitch to the main car park”.
