    “To call on Sligo County Council to return town-lands and areas previously taken from Stokane National School the former voting booth, so that Stokane NS can regain a viable voting booth status.”

    “That Sligo County Council calls on the Minister for Education, Mr. Ruairi Quinn to fully back the proposals of NUI Galway and St. Angela’s College, Sligo to operate as one and that he advises the HEA to progress the incorporation of St. Angela’s College, Sligo into NUI Galway”
  3. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Bree
    “Aware that Ahamlish cemetery has almost reached capacity level this Council resolves that a report be provided at the September monthly meeting to update the Council on efforts made to provide an alternative burial ground in the North Sligo area.”

    “That in the interest of safety the necessary restoration work be carried out on the path leading to the second beach at Rosses Point.”

  1. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor S. MacManus
    “To ask the County Manager to comment on the recently published “Eight Annual Report of the Local Government Management Agency” which shows that Sligo Countt Council has the worst record of all Councils in this state in relation to the length of time which the Council takes to re-let vacant Council houses.

    Further to ask the County Manager to bring forward, as a matter of urgency, a report on how this Council intends to tackle this average delay of 65.1 weeks (more than 16 months)in re-letting its vacant properties”
  2. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Mulvey
    “I call on Sligo County Council to invite the Chairperson of Sligo Mayo Greenway to make a presentation to this Council with its report on the potential of putting in a Greenway Track from Coolaney to Tubbercurry as a pilot scheme and to seek funding for a feasibility study in the next strand of funding from Leader from 2014”.
  3. To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor M. Fleming
    “To propose that Sligo County Council negotiate a long term lease of premises known as Brennans Teeling Street, Tobercurry with Tobercurry Chamber of Commerce for use as Tourist Information Office”.

    “As the Cashel Gates junction of road 430 with N17 remains the most dangerous junction on this National Primary Road I Propose that the necessary funding be requested from the NRA to complete works in accordance with Plans designed by Sligo County Council Road design team”

    “Recognizing the vital importance of the Government offices to the economy of Tubbercurry and the South Sligo Area for the past six years this Council calls once again on the Minister for Small Business John Perry who gave a firm commitment before the last general election that these offices would be retained and expanded upon also calls on Deputy Tony McLoughlin and the Government to ensure that the offices are retained in Tubbercurry”

    “To Call on Sligo County Council to support a vote of thanks and congratulations to (a) the design team and the Officials of Sligo County Council and (b) the NRA and (c) Priority Construction on a job well done on the N59.

    “That this Council take necessary measures to repair section of pier at Aughris due to erosion”.

    “That this Council take immediate action to address sitelines on the N59 at Junction with Road 21 in the interests of safety”.

    “To ask Sligo County Council to inspect the overgrown trees and branches along the N59 at Corhownagh, Ballisodare with the option of removing them”.

    “To call on the minister for transport Leo Varadkar to introduce legislation that compels vehicles on Irish roads to have orange or amber colour indicators and not the clear glass indicators that are getting more prevalent on Irish roads in the interest of public safety”

    “That Sligo County Council calls on the Minister for Finance and the Fine Gael/Labour Government not to implement cuts to social welfare payments in its upcoming budget. This Council believes that those who are dependent on social welfare should not be the target of cost-cutting measures as this Government continues its programme of austerity. In particular we are concerned at any threat to the welfare of our elderly citizens, either through cuts to the Old Age Pension or to any other of their entitlements”

    “To ask the County Manager if he has received correspondence regarding the failure of the Council to provide adequate funding for the operation of the Coroner services and to ask what proposals the Manager intends to make to ensure that the Council adheres to its statutory obligations.”

    “To ask what steps the Council is taking to ensure that necessary repairs/refurbishment is carried out on the outdoor swimming pool at Deadmans Point, Rosses Point.”

    “That the Council provide a report as to why consumers in the Bunninadde/Killavil/Gurteen areas are experiencing a reduction in the water pressure which is causing problems for householders”

    “That Sligo County Council calls on the Government to improve funding for local authorities by allowing a percentage of the VAT collected in each County to be refunded to that County (without an increase in the VAT rate nationally) to ensure the proper funding of local authorities who are under extreme pressure at present”.
