Draft Plan

Sligo County Council has prepared a Draft Development Plan for County Sligo (CDP) for the period 2017 to 2023 in accordance with the provisions of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended). The Draft Plan and associated documents were on public display from 21 September 2016 to 30 November 2016. A total of 225 submissions and observations were received during the consultation period.


Proposed Amendments

Notice is hereby given that, having considered the Draft Development Plan and the Second Chief Executive’s Report on submissions and observations relating to the Draft Plan and associated documents, it appeared to the elected members of Sligo County Council that the Draft Plan should be amended and that the proposed amendments would, if made, be a material alteration of the Draft Plan.


Environmental Assessments

Pursuant to Section 12 (7) (aa) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended), the Planning Authority has determined that a strategic environmental assessment and an appropriate assessment screening are required in respect of the proposed material alterations of the Draft Development Plan. These assessments have been undertaken and their findings are contained in the Addendum to the SEA Environmental Report and the Natura Impact Report for the proposed amendments to the Draft Sligo County Development Plan 2017-2023. These reports are published alongside the Proposed Amendments document.


Consultation Documents

The Proposed Amendments of the Draft Plan and associated documents will be available to view and download on the County Council website from Thursday, 11 May 2017 to Wednesday, 21 June 2017.

Written submissions or observation regarding the Proposed Amendments only should be made in writing (hard copy or e-mail) stating the name of the person or body making the submission and headed “Proposed Amendments of the Draft Sligo County Development Plan (CDP) 2017–2023” and sent to:

Consultation Closing Date

All submissions received by 4 pm on 21 June 2017 will be taken into consideration before the making of the Plan.

A report with recommendations on all valid submissions will be prepared and presented to the Members of Sligo County Council for their consideration.
