Councillor Paul Taylor elected Chair of Ballymote-Tubbercurry Municipal District Cathaoirleach of Ballymote-Tubercurry Municipal District Councillor Paul Taylor with outgoign Chair Councillor Joe Queenan

Councillor Paul Taylor was elected Cathaoirleach of Ballymote-Tubbercurry Municipal District its Annual General Meeting in County Hall on Monday. Councillor Dara Mulvey was elected Leas Cathaoirleach.

Councillor Taylor said it is going to be a very busy year for the Municipal District and the Council;  He emphasised the importance of continuing the excellent work being carried out by Sligo Tourism and South Sligo Tourism to enhance facilities and increase visitor numbers in the county and the region.

Councillor Taylor stated that all members of the District would be advocating progress on the N17, which had long been championed by their former colleague the late Councillor Margaret Gormley.  He also called for greater investment in the wider road network, regional roads and class 2 and class 3 roads.
